Additionally, the contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the vehicle shuddered and experienced low idling. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed. The dealer determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V740000 (Hybrid Propulsion System, Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

The contact veered to the side of the road and noticed that the burning odor was also coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V740000 (Hybrid Propulsion System, Engine and Engine Cooling) in 2018. The contact stated that the recall remedy was not effective. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed; however, the dealer declined to provide diagnostic information to the contact after several attempts. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 68,849.

The vehicle stalled and lost motive power; however, the contact was able to pull over. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle several times. The contact stated that the vehicle started up for several minutes but then stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be charged for a full day, but no failure was found. The mechanic at the dealer had experienced the vehicle unintendedly accelerating. The dealer stated that the failure would be reported to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted but stated that there was no record of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,947.
