While driving down the road at approximately 45 mph, the car suddenly shut down with no power. The display said there was a charging error and to put the vehicle in park. I parked the vehicle on the shoulder, turned it off, and restarted. The engine started and I drove off, but 5 minutes later it suddenly shut off once again. I repeated this process 2 times until the final time, the vehicle would not restart, and we were stranded on the shoulder of a busy road in icy conditions. A mechanic ran a diagnostic on the vehicle and there are no error codes, but it will not start and says there is a charging error, even though it is not plugged in. The sudden stops are very dangerous, especially in snowy/icy conditions. We are 600 miles away from home and do not feel safe operating this vehicle on a long road trip on busy highways.

Car has shut off, on the road, while driving twice now. Car revs up while driving but loses power and slows down. Dashboard blinks "stop safely, car will shut off soon, service electronic stability control, service trans, shut off engine to engage in park, park assist unavailable" engine is already off because it shut down automatically but car itself would not shut off. Had to disconnect the battery to reset it, got it started and only drove 3 miles to a parking lot and it continously lost driving power those 3 miles. Car revs up really high, but will not drive. Huge safety concern and Chrysler is aware but doesnt care. Car has been "fixed" twice now and still has continued to shut down while driving. It's been at the dealership since October 10th.

The Front head gasket failed near cylinder 6 causing a mixing of fluids and a "wash out" in the cylinder. This is not repairable and the whole engine must be replaced. 70,100 miles, 10,000 miles past it's warranty.

While driving down the road, my vehicle stated that it was not in park out of no where, and i was driving 35 -40 miles per hour. No doors were open, it was me and my twin boys age 2 in car seats. It then decided to stop in the road. The vehicle shut off. I turned on my hazards and had to try to restart my vehicle. Almost getting in an accident. Got it restarted and pulled it over. I was terrified. This was the second time this has happened except the first time was a month prior and i was driving up to a red light, depressed the brake (start stop was deactivated prior by me) and once i stopped the car just shut off and didnt want to restart, car was placed in park. After about a minute i got it to restart, again i pulled over. The radio will turn off and restart every 3 minutes, with nothing connected. It is like this car has all of a sudden become possesed. I have replaced both the battery and aux battery.

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while stopped on an incline, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle and the failure recurred while reversing. The contact restarted the vehicle however, the failure persisted after shifting to drive(D). The lights on the gear shifter started to flash with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle and drove to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall or covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

Very LOUD metallic clanking noise while driving 40-50 mph coming from front left wheel. When I inspected it, I saw that the front left wheel bearing hub mounting bolt had backed out of the hub and steering knuckle and onto the CV shaft end, which is what caused the clanking. I have photos of this damage. Vehicle is 3 years old and has 46,000 miles on it. I believe it should be obvious why wheel bearing hub mounting bolts backing out on their own is quite dangerous. This problem has not been confirmed by my local dealer. The manufacturer has not been made aware of this problem. There was no warning sign that this would occur. It happened spontaneously while driving this morning.

When I come to a stop(or sometimes not even fully) then accelerate to pull off, the rear end or something hesitates & then rams/jerks to the point I thought I was rear ended. This happens several times per week. Also, sometimes there-??s no power when I do try proceed through light/stops. It-??s like there-??s little to no power for about 10 seconds. The breaks are quite loud but dealer says they are good.

Requesting an N.H.T.S.A. an investigation into the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica defects as they relate to this specific model & vin number, leased directly from a Connecticut CJDR dealer as a new vehicle. Vehicle currently has 53k miles on it. The lurching & hard shifting defects in the transmission are well cited back to 2016 for this model. Our minivan began lurching forward during gear shifts at &/or approaching highway speeds (37mph - 59 mph) at ~35k miles, while on the highway or roadway with this permissible speed. Problem was intermittent & is now constant. Transmission lurching, & slamming began last year is so aggressive that the slamming woke my son from a sound sleep and vibrated the front cabin. A complaint has been made to Stallantis & the vehicle has been brought to the local CJDR dealer four times for the same issue. There is no code, so they can not fix the issue, nor can they can get the van to re-create the issue in the 7 or 8 miles they test drive it. Blogs have shown updates to the PCM and TCM. Service Bulletin NUMBER: 21-027-17 as a possible fix, but we did that & nothing has changed. TCM has no updates. Stallantis is now telling me I need to bring it back to the dealer and leave it for several days so they can "drive it home" & add more miles to the miles I have already added to it to have it diagnosed, back & forth the dealership & it's a lease. Stallantis is stating they will "look at it" even if the power train warranty is over at 60k miles, but won't guarantee they'll repair it. In the past they have given me Mopar vehicle protection plans for the life of the lease for specific issues, when these issues have not been fixable. Case manager says he isn't aware of that & has to check with his supervisor. The concern is the vehicle is going to have a total transmission failure with my children in the van. A "Star" case needs to be opened by Stellantis for this issue & I am going to request that tonight. Service bull. attached. CC. Atty Gen./CT.

On two separate occasions vehicle went into limp mode (red turtle mode) and then within minutes lost power and completely stopped working. The message "Service Charging Station" appeared after both incidents on the dashboard. We were fortunately traveling at low speeds (less than 25 MPH) and were able to pull over before losing power, but under other circumstances on other roads, the outcome could have certainly been worse and we may not have been able to move over to safety. On both occasions we were left stranded and the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership for repair. The vehicular failure we experienced on both occasions appears to be the same that is currently being investigated in the Office of Defects Investigation PE 22-008. The first incident occurred in December of 2021. Eventually the dealership replaced the power inverter module (PIM) in February of 2022. Vehicle was road tested and checked for safety and returned to us. In June of 2022 the vehicle broke down again with the exact same chain of events. Vehicle is currently at the dealership for repair and is again awaiting replacement of the PIM. It is my understanding that the failed parts have been/will be sent to Chrysler for internal investigation. As far as I am aware, they have not been inspected by any other parties. Other than the car going into limp mode, there were no other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

My wife was taking my daughter to work while waiting for the gate to open the van shut off as usual and after the gate was opened the van would not let my wife turned it off or even start it. This took place 3 days after the van was service by the dealership. This situation put my family in great danger if this took place in a major road it could have been catastrophic. Since the purchase of the van while driving between 0-25 mph the transmission jumped intermitently and not allowing us to move fast enough to avoid someone from running into the van. Luckily nothing sewrious has happened yet. Researching from the manufacture and there is no support available for customers. I have driven a tremendous amount of vehicles and for such a young vehicle this is not normal, and I as a customer should have to pay out of pocket to get this issue looked into and understand how to resolve it.

The rear dvd system routinely locks out and you are unable to control the entertainment system at all. Chrysler has no fix for this and it is very annoying. It has been in the shop numerous times with no solution. Also, the transmission will rev high sometimes and then slam into gear and make everyone-??s head slam back in the seat. I know there is a class action law suit on both issues. There are multiple YouTube videos of both issues with no fix.

I read that there is on ongoing investigation related to the 2019-2021 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid (Investigation# PE-22-008). I read the ODI Resume, and would like to report the exact same issue with my Pacifica. I was traveling at about 40 MPH on a four lane highway in February of 2022 when I suddenly lost all motive power. The dashboard reported a charging system error. I was able to get the car to the side of the road (though I was lucky to be able to do so) and it had to be towed to the Chrysler dealership (Deery Brothers Chrysler, 651 Hwy 1 W, Iowa City, IA 52246, 319-600-6890). They replaced a part in the charging system and it briefly ran, and then failed (thus the dealer has also reproduced the problem). It has now been at the dealership since then waiting for Chrysler to figure out the problem. Apparently Chrysler has sent an engineer to Deery as well, so there may be some confirmation from the manufacturer.

My transmission or other powertrain components have failed several times. While driving my vehicle has a hard time shifting gears. When It does find a gear it Jerks hard forward. That happens most days. Last week it completely disengaged in the middle of an intersection and would not find a gear for about 20 seconds I could not accelerate at all. I was scared and almost got hit from incoming traffic. I have repeatedly reported the problem to the dealership I bought it from and our local chrysler dealership. They have told us that without a malfunction code from our van they don't know what to fix or what the problem is. The technician that drove our van said the transmission slipped while he was driving, but that it only happened once while they had it. I am scared to drive this van with my children.

While driving 70MPH on the freeway the power to the engine failed. The dash showed a power error, telling me to plug the vehicle in. After coasting to the shoulder, the power to the car would not turn off, nor would the engine turn back on. I sat on the shoulder of the I-15 Freeway in Rancho Bernardo, CA for 45 minutes until a tow truck could come and tow the car to the dealership where it was purchased, Bob Baker Chrysler in Carlsbad, CA. The service technician, Juan Gonzalez, kept the car for about a week trying to replicate the problem, detect the issue, or learn anything about it. He could not determine the cause or the solution. However the car would start again and appeared to drive normally again. After 7 days the car was returned to me with out any repairs or any explanations or any assurance that this would not happen again. My family was placed in serious danger by being forced to sit in the car on the small shoulder a major interstate freeway without any power to the engine.

Power to engine was lost while driving 75 miles per hour down the freeway in the HOV Express lane. There was no shoulder to pull over onto safely. This is the second time this has occurred. First incident was March 2021. Power to engine cut while driving on freeway 75 MPH. Car was towed to Bob Baker Chrysler. Dealer was unable to recreate the problem or diagnose after 7 days. Issues occurred again on 4/19/2022. Car was towed to Bob Baker Chrysler.
