It was a rental car, driving on freeway, warning light will come up, saying engine will shut off. The Van had no power, and I had to pull over. I turned off the car for 2-5 minutes and restart. Then the car will accelerate again. I had to drive from LA to Las Vegas. It started doing that after Loma Linda, CA [XXX], on [XXX]). It took me 7 hours to get to Las Vegas. Because of the constant shut off warning. I had no choice but to do this because SixT rental car couldn't get another car to me for 5-6 hours wait. Driving at Interstate speed, dash message stated to pull over, engine shutting down. Coasted to stop on shoulder. Waited 5 minutes, turned on ignition, check engine light was on. Restarted vehicle, drove ~20 miles and same occurrence. Was able to return home to dealership. The OBD reader said the PCM (Powertrain control Module) had failed. Service Dept. sent info to Chrysler Corp. Service, which stated the transmission was at fault. Car mileage was ~16,500 miles. Under warranty, the transmission is being replaced.

Shortly into my trip home from work, I entered onto the interstate and accelerated up to speed. Within a minute the vehicle seemed to slow down and I had no power using the accelerator Pedal. The vehicle continued to slow and the gas engine failed to turn on.(this is a PHEV hybrid model). Eventually the vehicle lost all power and I was able to park it along the side of the interstate. The vehicle was still on, AC and electoral systems worked. After about 5 minutes, gas engine spontaneously started back up. I was able to gain speed start bad down the road. Approximately 3 min later, gas engine shuts down and same process occurred. This cycle took place about 6 times before vehicle would not start up anymore and ultimately had to be towed. After a week, dealership is not sure what-??s wrong as the transmission has been replaced which did not fix the problem. Dealership is now planning to replace the PIM module although there is an over 45day wait and they are unsure if that will fix the problem.

On a road trip with my 2022 Chrysler pacifica hybrid with 20k miles, was driving on the freeway when this message came up "stop safely vehicle will shut down". Vehicle immediately lost power and I pulled onto shoulder but was in a bad location to be broken down. Got out check fluids etc, all fine. Then cycled vehicles a few times and was able to limp it to a gas station. Finally got it going again and continued driving. I will now have to tow it home because it is unsafe.

While driving on the highway in rush hour traffic I got a message to pull over when it was safe to do so, and the car started losing power. The breakdown lane was in use for traffic, so I had to drive 1/2 mile to find a safe spot with the car going much more slowly than the flow of traffic. I turned the car off, and opened the door to 'reset' it, then nervously pulled back out into traffic. I was able to drive to about a mile from my house, and I got the message and lost power again. I go the car to my mechanic, who said that the car had transmission failure. I had the car towed to the dealer, who confirmed as much.

Vehicle stopped twice while driving on the highway. Very scary. The car forced me to stop. I got an email from the vehicle at the time of the incident saying it was a powertrain failure. And the dealer says its a transmission issue The vehicle displayed this on the dashboard when it was stopping. Safely - Vehicle will shut off soon

On 5/6/24 I was driving on the highway when suddenly a warning came on the dashboard that said stop safely. The vehicle will shut off soon. I was able to quickly get off the highway and I barely made it into a gas station. I had to cross several lanes of oncoming traffic to do this, and by that time, the vehicle was literally shutting down and I, barely made it into the gas station. My safety was put at risk because I was going 55 miles an hour on a highway that had no shoulder to pull off to and I had no idea how long I had until the vehicle was going to shut down. I was so terrified of being stuck on this highway that I took a risk by exiting the highway worrying the whole time that I would get stuck at any moment. Because it was a Monday and a very busy day for tow trucks I had to wait 3 1/2 hours for a tow truck to come. I was in a part of town. I would never normally stop in because it is not safe. As a said earlier, the warning light came on the dash suddenly

I had just entered the highway and was at 70mph maybe 3 minutes into the drive, the engine hiccuped with a slight loss of power and the dashboard lit up with a message: -??Stop Safely. Vehicle will shut off soon-?? and the transmission light came on. Outside temp: 78 degrees, AC on, stereo on I pulled over to the side of the highway, turned the car off and then back on and the message was still there. I sat for about 5 minutes with the car off and restarted. The Stop Safely message was gone but the transmission light was on. The van drove normally the remaining 8 miles home. Once home, I turned it on and off periodically and the transmission light was still on but no Stop Safely message. This morning I turned the car on and the transmission light was no longer on.

While driving on the freeway an indicator light of a red turtle lit up with a message "Stop Safely, Vehicle will shut off soon". After pulling over to the side of the road, turning the car off and back on message was gone. The same message appeared twice again wile continuing to drive on the freeway on the same drive. The third time took an off-ramp to get off the freeway and after a short while gas pedal did not respond. Eventually made it home and took the car to the dealership. Identified transmission needs to be replaced and service was preformed on the vehicle. If I were not able to pull over at a relatively safe location on the freeway the car may have shut off in the middle of the freeway putting us and other motorists at great danger. We were driving our van uphill and about to go through a stoplight when the van suddenly lost all power and multiple warning lights came on. We turned the car off and on several times over maybe 5-10 minutes, 3 stoplight cycles until we were able to get power back and proceed through the light, causing a lot of traffic backup and unsafe situation because drivers were going into oncoming traffic lanes to get around us. The car would not move at all until we got power back. It then was ok until a couple days later it lost power again. that time, it was on a flat road and able to creep the 3 blocks home at about 5mph. Presumably the first time, it couldn't move at all because we were on an uphill? We had it towed to Chrysler and the transmission was replaced. we have had multiple other issues with this car but our request for a buyback was denied. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of this car.

Driving on a city street, shortly after driving out of a parking lot, and suddenly the message 'Stop Safely - Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon' showed on the dash, including a check engine light and a red turtle icon. After pulling over on a busy city street and waiting 10 minutes, I was able to start back up and keep driving. The CEL light stayed on but not the 'stop safely' message.

We experienced a loss of vehicle power while on the highway. The vehicle suddenly went from 70 to 37mph while alerting us to pull over (no prior warning), and the the vehicle would soon come to a stop. We were forced to cross 4 lanes of traffic in order to pull over to the side of a major highway during rush hour. The vehicle had our whole family in it at the time, 2 adults and 2 children under 12. The vehicle put us and all others on the road in danger due to the sudden and unexpected loss of power. We were lucky not to cause a serious accident at the time of the incident. Furthermore, we are fortunate that the vehicle was not struck while on the shoulder of road. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed as a transmission failure by the local Chrysler Dealer. There was no previous warnings or issues with the vehicle prior to this incident.

While driving on a highway (never at slower speeds), a message will display on the dash that says "Stop Safely, Vehicle will shut off soon." The car then begins to decelerate and I have less than a minute to pull off the road. This issue began in December 2023. The car has been with the dealership from Feb 16 to present (April 4). The dealership was able to reproduce the problem. I am told it's related to the transmission, and am still waiting on a status update.

My wife was driving our 2022 Pacifica Hybrid Touring L to work on 101 freeway when a message came up on the console "Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" Within minutes and while she was in the middle lane of the Freeway and the speed shutdown to 19mph causing cars behind to almost collide with our van. Drivers showed road rage towards her. She was able to coast to the freeway exit. We got the van towed to a dealer where it is now. I have read many reports of this same thing happening to may others. Something needs to be done about this.

On three separate occasions (December 2023-February 2024), while driving in temperatures below freezing, our 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid dashboard gave the following warning, along side the illumination of a red turtle warning light: "Stop Safely. Vehicle will shut off soon." The vehicle then lost the ability to accelerate, and the speed dropped significantly and immediately. Two of the three times, my one and three year old were in the vehicle and there was no shoulder on the 50mph road we were traveling on after sunset. Fortunately, the three times this happened, we were less than a half mile from our home and we coasted downhill to the bottom of our driveway. Our vehicle has now been at a certified Chrysler dealership for three full business days, and the technician "has no idea what is wrong, " "is still working on it, " "has no idea how long it will take to fix, " and "has no rental or loaner cars available" for our family while we wait for our family's mode of Transportation to be returned. They claim they are unable to recreate the issue, so they cannot fix it. We showed them a picture of the dashboard, but that is not enough for them. It is currently 72 degrees in Dayton, OH, and the issue has never occurred in temperatures above 30 degrees. Thus, I doubt they will be able to "recreate" the issue until next winter. They've offered no other options or resolution until they can "recreate the issue."

Ever since delivery of our vehicle it would seem to have a hard shift between the electric and gas motor. Recently, we were driving one morning and noticed that when the gas engine kicked in, the RPM-??s were much higher than usual. Later that day we received the -??Stop Safely the Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon-?? message along with a check engine light. Shortly thereafter the vehicle went into limp mode. We are very lucky this happened in town as opposed to on the highway or in a remote area where this would pose an even more serious safety risk. Especially with young children on board. We then brought the vehicle to the nearby dealer where they found P0A43-00 -??Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor-?? and C0063-9A -?? Yaw Rate Sensor-Component or System Operating Conditions-?? codes present. After nearly a week of troubleshooting and opening up a -??STAR-?? case, the dealership is now in the process of acquiring and replacing the transmission on our vehicle. This seems to be related to the recent recall 03A -??Loss of Motive Power-?? and Chrysler TSB 21-008-23 affecting the internal transmission wiring connector. Our recall was completed promptly after issuance but this did not address the underlying issue of the internal transmission wiring connector. Our van is just over one year old and has under 21,000 miles on it. Needless to say this is unacceptable for a vehicle of this age, use, and especially MSRP! We purchased this vehicle as a safe option for our family and now we have lost confidence.

While on interstate in busy Atlanta traffic received loss of power warning. Engine is about to stop pulled over to side of road, but shoulder was very narrow and feared for our lives as car was very close to traffic lane. Called Chrysler roadside assistance. Long delay. After a couple of attempts to restart, I was able to get off the road into a shop. Mechanic reported code P0A43. Drive motor sensor. Taking to dealer tomorrow. After half a mile car would not move, and this could have resulted in a fatal accident if I couldn-??t get to the shoulder. Previously reported to dealer knocking in transmission when accelerating and decelerating. Dealer said that was normal. However, my previous 2022 Pacifica hybrid did not do that.
