The new $9000 transmission began making the same noise 6 months after install and the dealer refused to replace or repair it. They clamed it was "normal operation" (Chrysler sells no internal parts for this so repair is not possible). After bringing it back 3 times and getting NY state consumer protection involved I made an appointment at another dealer and it failed the day before the appointment so I had to tow it in.

This dealer refused to replace under warranty even after I contacted Chrysler so I had to tow it back to the installing dealer. I have opened a small claim court case to recover my $276 they charged for "diag" and $157 for the tow. I am clearly entitled to a warranty unit but it is not resolved yet.

I would really like to know how big of a problem this is. The transmission has harsh engagement almost every time you hit gas from stop and even when rolling once it starts to fail. Eventually it fails and then will not hold in park.

Transmission had internal problem. Vehicle rolled increasing distance in park. When it failed, park did not work and it got a hole in it and fluid leaked out .
