Replaced speed sensor with one from autozone. The issue was that the car would not shift out of first gear.

I have mixed emotions on my Sebring, I bought it used a couple of years ago...I love the way it looks and feels and I've def got my monies worth (I think) I've put about 80 thousand miles on it in 2 years. Complaints...pain in the rump to fix so all fixes are expensive, This is the second time my speed sensor died first time I paid 445.00 to get it fixed this time I did it myself and cost about 50 bucks. Well better correct that since I'm in the middle of fixing it myself, got the first sensor in, it's the easy one of course thats not the one with the problem, the 2nd one appears to be more complicated ie taking fluid pan off and getting to it that way although I have checked everywhere and cannot find out exactly how to change that 2nd one if anyone knows PLEASE let me know

stuck in neutral regardless of selection
It hadn't had a single problem, at first there's the sound of a belt having some sort of issue as the noise it creates goes up with rev-count, steadily increasing until the gear shifts, all of a sudden, turning into a light almost, the car just loses gear, I slam on the brakes with thankfully nobody behind me at the moment, hoping to god my car can make the turn so I can pull over safely and it does, thankfully, thought I didn't have enough transmission fluid in so I just added half a quart but it turns out, that was already full, a bit TOO full, so that only probably added a little more to the issue anyway, it's ridiculous that this could even happen, I've never heard or seen a car have this kind of issue before out of everything I have seen happen before, the gear just slips out of gear entirely, it's not like I'm accidentally nudging the stick up into neutral it's in Reverse, Drive, 3rd, and L gears and still just rams the revs after towing it the rest of the way home after attempting to drive the rest of the way. Thankfully I found a safe spot to pull off and just get off the road before I went up a hill and had it give way entirely like it did later that night after emptying out the transmission fluid to a safe level. Gotta love Chrysler engineering.
