I purchased my 2002 Chrysler Sebring in February of 2003. The paint started looking dingy after about a year. I thought it was from roadfilm, so I hand washed it, because like most people we had taken it through the fast car wash touchless of coarse for most of the cleanings. It looked a little better at first and I thought well next time I might actually get all the road film off. Little did I know that the road film was actually the clear coat coming off. It started loosing shine after probably 3 months. Then it looked like someone was bleaching out the black. It just started turning white on the top around the sun roof, then down the sides and on the hood in spots. Now it only has 38000 miles on it and it has started to rust. We live in an area where there is no excuse for this happening. It has to be defective paint or a defective paint job. We took the car back to the dealership we bought it from and they said that Chrysler only warranties paint for 36 months, and they've never seen anyone get they're paint waranteed, so they didn't even try to fix it and of coarse they don't care either! We bought the bumper to bumper warranty understanding that everything would be covered. Well at least that's what you expect when you here the term bumper to bumper right? Not to mention how much we paid for the car a whopping 25,000. I had always thought Chrysler would stand behind they're craftsmanship but now that I have learned the hard way, I will needless to say never buy a Chrysler again and that dealership has permanently lost my business. I think that it is a shame, you always here us Americans complaining about , buying more American products for the American people, but when you get service like this there is no wonder why the united states can't keep people from buying foreign. I don't think any car should have a 3 year 36000 mile warranty on paint. We have old vehicles that don't run and they look better than my car. It looks like it has the mange. And it is really embarrassing to my children and me. I think someone should start a class action. I have seen a lot of Chrysler since I bought mine do the same on the paint. MY HUSBAND HAS THIS TO SAY///I am a ford mechanic and I have never in my life seen such from an auto dealer and would be ashamed if I worked for Chrysler. Paint is guaranteed for more years than they claim, they just want the customer to foot the BILL because they are a sorry company and are spineless! I will never grace anymore Chrysler dealerships as long as I live and I will make sure my children and relatives refrain from buying Chrysler products, because Chrysler is trash. No one should be subjected to the service that Chrysler offers. From now on if you buy a Chrysler and same goes for me you are damning your self!!!!!!!
