Water pump failed, water went into engine and engine oil. Never seen this before, and have worked on cars for over 40 years.

I had a low engine oil coming on idle around 50000 miles . I went to my dealer and asked a service writer if the car was having oil pump problems or sensor problems they flat told me no problems when all they had to say was it was water pump leak. I was having to had coolant to the to the site bottle every 3 or 4 months . then the t stat housing failed and figured that was the leak. It was still using coolant and oil light came again .Again i went to the dealer the car now has about 80000 miles on it .The service writer again tells me they do not have a problem.
I buy a oil pressure sender and pan gasket as the pan is leaking . i pull the pan and replace sender and gasket and notice oil is a little thick but the light bulb did not come . When finished the job i now had an external coolant leak again I went to my dealer and ask where the coolant was coming from because i could not find the leak I had steam cleaned the eng. before i did the pan gasket. Not knowing i had cleaned out drain hole for the water pump. thats when I found out that the water pump was inside the engine compartment.when all they had to say your water pump has failed when i asked about oil light and thick oil.Now I own a dead car worth scrap metal

I began smelling a coolant smell coming from my engine. Then one day a trip the car began to overheat very quickly. After checking the coolant level I discovered that it as
very low. I filled ti to the proper levels, but 2 days later it was low again and over heating. I took to a dealership and they diagnosed it as a blown water pump. They wanted to charge $887.64 with the extended warranty paying only $336.34 of the totaly cost, leaving me to pay the balance. I also was made aware a leaking gasket on mu oil pan. After hearing about the class-action suit being brought in reference to my car and it's problems I decided to jion in the complaint.

Coolant leaking out, temperature gauge shoots to HOT. I brought it to Mechanic in same town as Chrysler plant they won't touch it because of reoccurring sludge problems and they say the engine will freeze from random sludge traveling system. Brought to the dealer, they put in new water pump, broken engine mount, new radiator. It's been back to the dealer for misc behavior four times!! Now the engine is smoking with rubber smell, back to the dealer this is it. I am off to the Attorney General!! And anyone else who will listen!! All I can say is buy a HONDA or TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!!! Look around the trouble is always with AMERICAN MADE VEHICLES!!!!!!! Chrysler Sucks!!!!

Was the precursor to complete engine failure. Trade that Sebring NOW!!

My 2002 2.7L Sebring started leaking coolant at 174,001km. I thought it was the coolant bleeder housing again which was replaced a year ago but this time it was worse. The water pump has to be replaced. Another problem is along the way of replacing the water pump, the timing chain system has to be replaced partly, so the expense goes up to almost $3,000 Cdn. if it was done by the Chrysler dealer. Because this is our lone car for bringing my wife to her 2 daily jobs, to bring our two kids to school every morning, to bring my toddler to her grandma in the morning and take her home again in the night plus the running errand for groceries and others, I had to scramble to find a much lower price repair shop. Fortunately, I found one and had my car towed to his shop before lunchtime. It will take him 3 days at the most to restore it back to normal. Once this is fixed, I am just wondering when this kind of problem will happen again, because if it does happen again within the next 2 or 5 years, I’ll be looking for a trade-in now.
