AIR BAG light......I have had the air bag light repaired over 12 times. it has driven me crazy over the past several years, constant on/off alert noise, light distraction. I have had my car in the shop so many times to fix the airbag light. They Chrysler shops have attempted to fix it multiple times only to have the problem return again in a few weeks. The light is on currently and stays on the entire time while driving, it is not making the alert noise any more but is is extremely annoying. Is this also danger?

my airbag light would come on and off from time to time and my good friend who just happens to be a mechanic for hinckley chrysler dodge told me to check the connections under the driver and passenger seats because they tend to come loose quite often. He says at least one Sebring comes in a week with air bag issues and about 80% of the time the issue is this.

From the other postings the always on airbag light seems to be a common problem with no clear solution, yet, my car has not passed inspection this weekend. The usual method of moving passenger seat to a specific spot work for a little while, until drove over bumpy road, then 'bing'. Yes, years passed dealer addressed, but problem returned soon after, and now dealer is gone. Solution needed.

I bought my 2002 Chrysler sebring in 2005. I have had a problem with the airbag light since I bought it. I have asked auto technicians how to fix this problem and the common response is, "Not sure. We haven't found a permanent solution that sticks yet and chrysler does not help us with a solution". I never did put money into a solution because I can't find anyone that will stand behind the money I would spend if it does'nt fix the problem. Help!!! The ding, ding, ding is very annoying.

The airbag light on my 2002 sebring gtc conv began going on & off at times & then finally stayed lit. There was no rhyme or reason for this.It was very annoying to have the dig dong noise when the light was going on & off.

Is this a legitimate air bag trouble ?It seems to me from these posts ,that this is a pretty common problem with this 2002 sebring convertible.Does Chrysler have a fix or recall for this problem ?

I purchased my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible in 2005. The airbag light comes on and off all the time. Its very annoying. When it was still under warranty, I had it "fixed" by the Chrysler dealership, and Taaah Daaaaah...a week later it was back on. I will never buy another Chrysler vehicle for as long as I shall live....This is just ONE of the problems I have with this vehicle.....

I bought this car in August of 2007 and the airbag light problem was fixed before delivery...something with the seatbelts. Anywho a couple weeks a go it came back; on/off and ding ding. If I'm alone I crank up the stereo which by the way I had to replace blown speakers on lol. I am past the 12 month warranty on original repair and the dealership finds no humor in the fact that I think they should subtract the 3 week in June they had my car rebuilding the engine due to oil sludge. Good news is I am shopping for a new car and while I'm undecided on what to get I do know that I will not be purchasing any Chrysler or Dodge vehicles. No offense carcomplaints.com but I look forward to the day I can remove your site from my favorites list, and it's not going to happen till I rid myself of this nightmare of a car :)

I had the airbag light problem too that has been mentioned several times here. I chose to ignore it until my inspection was due and it wouldn't pass with the air bag light on. I declined the diagnostic test a local garage offered to do to fix it and came home and found Henry's answer on how to reset the air bag sensor and it worked. Don't know how long it will work for, but it passed inspection today, so thanks Henry!

Sebring GTC 2.7L V6

Another unbelievable and completely inexplicable problem NOT covered under any warranty by Chrysler! This time the Airbag light comes on randomly one evening and won't turn off. I take it to the Chrysler dealership who says that there's a part (about $160 part!!!) that needs to be replaced, which will cost $160 in labor to replace it. So $320 and 2 days later, the light is off. No explanation, no reason, just requests for more money in order to fixc what may or may not be a significant problem.

Same as others have reported, air bag light goes on.. DING, stays on a bit, then off, then air bag light goes on... DING, stays on a bit, then off. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the air bag light and bell go on.... and off. Apparently there is a problem with no concern from Chrysler for a solution. I am almost sure there are more than several complaints about this issue. So...... what can be done? Chrysler.... do YOU have an answer?

off and on, off and on!!!! since the day I owned that car. Dealer's solution? They always say it's the seat belt tensioner. Buy parts, replace tensioner. If it's not the driver's side seat belt tensioner, then it's the passenger side seat belt tensioner. Fixes the problem for couple months, then it's back again, off and on, off and on!!! It's happened MORE than 3 TIMES!!!! What the hell? They say it's not covered under warranty. My car is under warranty till 100k. Some good that warranty did! I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth fixing all the time? If I had to fix it all the time, I'd be at the dealer service every other MONTH! I'm a chick, so yea, they take advantage of stupid me! I won't be buying ANY Chrysler car again.

The airbag light comes on and the bell rings periodcally. I have to move the seat back and forth everytime I get in and it has a very annoying crating sound. Then the air bag light will come on and stay on unless I move the seat back and forth a few times. This will sometimes fix the problem and sometimes it won't. I have taken it in before for this and they just told me it was a seatbelt problem that caused it. I'm not sure what I am going to do this time. Right now it has stopped, but it wil start again I know. This will be the 2nd time I have taken it in for the same problem if I decide to take it this time.
