Car rides rough. Stalls when coming to a stop. Especially after traveling on the highway after a distance. Seems to be related to the most RECENT problem that has been added now at 34,676 with the engine light coming on & they tell me I've not changed my oil enough & I've got "sludge" in my engine........ the light doesn't want to go off. They've added a quart of cleaner & want me to drive it a thousand miles. It's Saturday & we've done some research. Wait until Monday and we drop our mountain of paperwork on their counter about Chrysler's deceit with these engines!

I bought a 2004 Sebring in Oct of 2005. About a year after I had problems with it stalling, and a loud noise coming form the exhaust. I took it numerous times to the dealership, and of course upon inspection, nothing wrong with it. After about 3 times and on a Saturday, I attempted to take my car into the dealership to see what was going on. When I arrived, THEY WERE CLOSED. At one point, on going to the dealership at 7:30 in the morning, on a Saturday, I saw two guys walking around. I told them I wanted to get my car serviced. I was told they were closed for 2 months for renovation. I asked what can I do to get my car fixed, and the old bastard replied, SORRY, DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU. So I was pissed, and decided to take my car to another Chrysler dealership. In which the supervisor was very nice and totally fixed my car. Come to find out the resonator on the exhaust was damaged, and 2 spark plugs were blown out. They fixed all of it (it was under warranty still). Thanks to Mario Portillo, My car runs like it was Brand New. But I couldn't believe this car had so many problems with it, and it all started with less than 10,000 miles. So for those of you who have this problem stalling and what not... GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, YOUR WARRANTY IS GOOD AT ALL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS. Wish I would of known that before going to my crappy dealer. I called and thanked Mario, His Supervisor, And the General Mgr, As well the Owner of the dealership on how well Mario helped me out. Now as for my Original dealership. I called Chrysler Corp and made a complaint on how rude and crappy there service is, and how they are making the chrysler name look very bad. Hope this helps some of you who experience this. Check those spark plugs and rotor cap/wires.

Car has been stalling and dying out since it reached just under 3,000 miles... the car now has 35,500 and still periodically stalls-after driving about 30 miles, is fine on highway, pull in driveway and the thing just quietly dies. It does start back right away, but how friggin annoying. I have checked it into service numerous times but to no avail. Sent email to Chrysler Corp about issue as soon as it happened and pretty much got blown off. I am still a loyal Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep customer, but wish a product that I believed in so much would bother to care about the customers.

This was my dream car, I purchased it when I turned 60. Now it is more of a punishment. Every so often (never know when) the car will turn off when you stop and will not turn back on. I have had to have it towed to the dealership several times and all they can tell me is they don't know what is wrong.

Alright, let me first say that Chrysler sucks. Big time. I own an 04 Sebring that is having the exact same stalling problems as everyone else (VERY dangerous - especially at high speeds), but mine is also lurching forward at the most random times. I'll be sitting at a stoplight, and (with my foot on the brake... not the gas) the car will all of a sudden roar and lurch forward. If you don't have your foot stomped on the gas pedal at all times, you're in serious danger of ramming the car ahead of you. I think all Chrysler owners ought to send Thank You letters to Chrysler. Anyone agree?

I bought this vehicle in Nov 04 and it stalled on me within the first week I owned it. I have had it to the dealer several times and each time it was hooked up to their computer system, nothing came up so I was told nothing was wrong with my car. It stalls in slow traffic, coming to a stop, turning, etc. You never know when it will happen. I had the service technician at Hendrick Chrysler Jeep in Fayetteville NC ride with me for about fifteen minutes and of course nothing happened. This lemon vehicle of mine also jerks when I drive slow so I always have to be ready to hit the brake in order to keep from rear ending a car. I will never buy another Chrysler again. I was told by a reliable source that this problem wont be repaired until the dealer can duplicate it even though they know what the problem is. I was told the computer in the vehicle needs to be flashed. My concern is that I have a son getting ready to take drivers ed and with this being my only vehicle there is no way I will let him drive it under these conditions. It scares me when it happens, can you imagine a car stalling on an inexperienced driver? Thanks Chrysler, your vehicle and customer service suck!

Engine stalls when stopping, or worse, when you hit the gas to pull out. Had that problem for about 6 months and it was in and out of the dealership. had new wiring harness and circuit boards. Good for 6 months. It's back in w/ sloppy idle, they are talking about an engine replacement possibly, and after 1.5 weeks and having the STAR program tech on it, still do not have it diagnosed. It's a lemon. If they solve it , I'll post it back here.

This car stalls when coming to a stop. It has only done it 7 times since I've had it which over a year. Just this last week I was idling in a parking lot, and the thing died on me. I have taken it to Chrysler many times, and of course, nothing ever reads on the computer and nothing happens on a test drive. But it really pisses me off. I was talking to a guy that has an 04 PT Cruiser, he says his car does the same thing. My co-worker just (TODAY) bought an 05 300 and the thing stalls on her on the way back to work!! What the hell is wrong with these motors?!

This is part 2 of the problems with my car. See the seatbelt/air bag section for more details. This car does have a tendency to suddenly stall for no apparent reason. As I have had so many other problems and they can never recreate the problem at the dealership, I have just about given up. The previous stalls have occurred after city driving as I was slowing to park. The car has always started right back up and no warning lights ever come on. I get an oil change about every 3000 miles at a service station, however after reading about the sludge problem with the other Sebrings I am concerned this might actually be what is occurring with my car, and if they blame me for it they will have a raging banshee on their hands. Anyway, once again my car stalled today. I had just gotten off the interstate and was at a stoplight. As I turned to go through the stop the car suddenly died. Rather embarrassing (not to mention dangerous) during rush hour on a busy intersection. The car did start up immediately and drove fine after that. Needless to say I will be (once again) going to the dealership in the morning as they were (of course) closed once I got home. The irony was that when I got home, there was a customer satisfaction survey waiting for me from the last time I had the car in (a month ago)... I felt somewhat vindicated after filling it out!
