problem #2

Jul 132006

Sebring 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,595 miles
During normal use of the car, the rear-window defroster stops working. The defroster stops working because a power wire comes disconnected as the tab attached to the glass detaches. The car is a convertible with limited vision to the rear, when the defroster doesn't work the driver's vision is limited even further. This makes driving dangerous. The tab was re-attached at the dealer.

: the contact stated there was a burning smell coming from the inside of the vehicle. The next day the vehicle caught on fire. The fire department was called and filed a report. Upon inspection the insurance company determined the electrical wiring in the rear defroster caused the fire. Previously, the vehicle was taken in for repair because the rear defroster, turn signals and the windshield wipers had failed.
