2005 Chrysler sebring gtc conv. At 3:00 O'clock in the morning, I awoke to my horn just honking away. The air bag light is on all the time. It happened another time in the middle of the night and then happened when I was stopped at a light. Everyone was looking at me as I *dramatically* pounded on the steering wheel. I don't think the pounding is really helping, as it seems to just stop on it's own. The last time it happened was yesterday. As I pulled up to my friends house, and was just about to shut it off, the horn started honking short honks then progressed to looooonnngggg honks. Being labor day, needless to say all the neighbors came out to see what all the racket was about. After pounding on it for a few, I decided to drive away as I was sooo humiliated by this time. It stopped about 6 houses down the street. Go figure. However, it was the first time I was aware that there was a ticking sound coming from the area where the control panel for the mirrors were, on the left side of the front of dashboard.

This complaint is on behalf of my father. Robert mulcahy sr. He owns a 2005 Chrysler Sebring (touring) auto. I don't have the VIN number, but could get it. He was just involved in an accident that had him impacting another vehicle with the front of his car at or around 35-40 mph. We both find it incredible that neither air bags deployed. Does this sound like a normal operation of safety equipment? this accident happened in oak lawn, il., on the 9th of August, 2007.

: the contact stated while driving 60 mph the left front wheel fractured and broke away from the vehicle. It crashed into a guard rail and proceeded to travel over the guard rail. Neither of the front airbags deployed. The fuel tank was punctured during the process, and the vehicle erupted in flames. It became fully engulfed in flames and burned to the ground. The fire department and the state police were at the scene of the accident and provided written reports. The vehicle was inspected by the insurance company and was deemed totaled.

Driving a 2005 Chrysler sebring, started to rain and skidded sideways into a curb. The air bags deployed and smoke started to billow from the steering wheel area. The other bag broke the windshield. I turned off the ignition and got out of the car. I suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Upon release from the hospital I went to put on my coat and discovered that it was me that had been on fire. 1/3 of the sleeve had been burned by the exploding air bag. If I had been unconscious or it was summer I could have suffered from smoke inhalation or burned at least my arm. Something should be done about the sparks and possible explosion that the air bags set off.
