This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chrysler dealer.
I had already had the front wheel bearing replaced at 35,000 miles, just before the warranty expired, because they were making a horrible groaning noise. By my 39,000 mile oil change the bearings were making a slight noise but the dealer said it wasn't a concern and the bearings just needed to break in. When I got to 42,000 miles the problem was so bad that my vehicle wouldn't pass the state inspection. Fortunately my car came with an 8yr extended warranty so I was only out the $100 deductible like the other poster. Still, I'm out $100 because Chrysler can't make bearings that last more than 7,000 miles.

Wheel bearings started making a loud "whuhwhuhwhuh" noise that seemed to get the loudest at about 40mph. The dealer replaced the bearings free under the warranty, which only had 1000 miles left on it. The new bearings also started making noise within a few thousand miles, but after my standard warranty had expired.

First problem we had was the dealer (not dealer we purchased car from) did not find our extended warranty in the data base. After several phone calls finally it magically was found. (We were quoted $235 to get the bearing replaced without warranty) It cost us $100 for the ext. warranty deductible. After talking with others we found out that this is a typically problem on Chrysler Sebrings. One person told us that they had to replace their wheel hub bearing 5 times. Now I feel we have a lemon. My husband will not ever buy another Chrysler product.

I Had 4 brand-new Pirelli P4's put on my 2005 Chrysler Sebring, and as I'm driving off the Volco Tire lot I hear groaning coming from the front of the car. I was told it was tire break-in period. What? Never heard of that. It was the front left wheel bearing. The Pirelli P4 tire is truly an amazing tire. Cornering, rain, snow, handling is excellent. I own good tires now, and if you need to know what is good. It's Pirelli. Take it from. exusn306..
