My check engine started flashing and it would stutter and had shifting hesitation. This of course freaked me out because anytime the check engine light flashes you are supposed to take your car in immediately to be serviced. I did just that...nothing...just as the man from Canada had mentioned. The technicians were clueless because the computer system never recorded any of this happening. My car overheated one time and that was never recorded on the computer either!!!! It hasn't overheated since but seemed to have the hesitation in shifting when the car was cold. I also noticed that the check engine light would flash if the gas cap was loose ???? Not sure if any of this related..shouldn't be I don't think. If I tightened the gas cap and shut the car off and restarted...the check engine light would go out. The car now has a tad over 50,000 on it and so far hasn't had the hesitation problem (knock on wood) and it has become habit to check my gas cap....no check engine light issue ?????

I have a 2006 Sebring Touring with the 2.7l v6 and we get the Check engine light flashing and the transmission fails to shift from gear to gear. anyone have any ideas that I can pass forward to the mechanics because they are acting very baffled. But get this, the car is not recording any of the issues that are occurring when the check engine light is flashing. Any answers or similar issue would help out greatly.
