This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chrysler dealer.
It's not safe, though it only happens occasionally while you are driving!

I bought a 2007 4.2 Chrysler Sebring about 3 years ago from a car lot in Clearwater Fl. The vehicle only had like 52,000 miles on it. I liked the way it looked and the M.P.G. was pretty good. Now after 8 years of driving this car, it has been one thing after another.
It started with stalling while at a stop light, stop sign, turning left or right, or just in the carport. I began to troubleshoot this problem starting with the air filter, then ran some fuel injection cleaner, but the problem still remained. It seemed to go away for awhile until in the mail was a recall on this car for some wiring harness problem, in this statement from Chrysler stated the same problems that I have been having with this car.
Took it to my local dealer and they replace the faulty part. 1 month goes by and its doing the same thing again but with a twist, it's worse when driving in rain. It would stall out yet again at a stop light, stop sign, turning right or left. Now I had noticed that when starting the car would shoot up to 2500 RPMs and idle down at 1000RPMs. Then the Engine light would come on, at this time I was working an automotive shop that had a diagnostic machine that would tell me why the engine light was on. It reads that a small leak in the catayitic converter was evident.
After driving this car for this amount of time the problem still remains, After stopping at my local supermarket, went to start my car, and "yes you have it", it will not start. 1.5 Hrs. later I finally have it towed to my home, where it sits at this moment. Spending time on the web about this issue I have with this car, it seems a lot of other people have the same problem with their vehicles "meaning the 2007 Chrysler Sebring".
So I called Chrysler and well lets say I got the run around about how recalls works for you vehicle, ask a question to the person on the phone get 2 back from the person, never getting the answer you called for to begin with. I'm just fed up. Now I will have this car towed again to my mechanic to try to figure out that the fuel pump, or the relay is faulty.
Oh by the way Chrysler if you keep using the same faulty component in your newer vehicles the same result will be the same RECALLS on the fuel pump.

Vehicle stalled lost power while driving. The lightning bolt was flashing. Google said Electronic Throttle Control glitch shut off, press down on accelerator while off then re-start to "clear" code. Do so and it re-started no problem. Called warranty center and they gave referral to auto shop for diagnostics/possible repair under warranty. Auto shop charges $50 each visit IF they cannot find code. I asked if I am supposed to drive until it codes because all info I have found states to "NOT drive as it is unsafe".. they said no, but they cannot guarantee anything if it does no have the 'code" present while they look at it. Confused on what to do!! Very UNSAFE!

Reported the issue to mechanic. He in turn checked it and called the Chrystler Corp. and they said there are no known defects with this car.

Just driving along on a narrow rural highway at about 40mph going around a curve, let off accelerator and when I went to give it gas there was no power! It had died and I didn't realize it. There were no warning signs. All electrical was still functioning. Luckily was able to pull off - waited a few seconds and it started up fine ran fine til about a month later. Only this time I had my small children in the car and again it did the same thing but was going about 55mph on a straight and narrow. Really scared to drive!!!! Took it to dealer no codes came up and when he drove it didn't do anything???? How are we supposed to fix this unsafe problem if Chrysler can't even tell us what is going on????

After four trips to the dealer they can not find the problem, no trouble codes stored. It stalls and all goes dead at many different times, pulling out in traffic and at cruise on the highway, while still rolling put it in neutral and it starts right back up !! It's not safe to drive and I have parked it.........
Please anyone with the same problem or solution let me know. It's not eligible for the Lemon Law but considering class action for breach of warranty....

I have had this car for a little over a year. And within the past 2 months it has been constantly stalling on me. One of the times it almost caused a serious accident. I take very good care of my car so I know it has nothing to do with that. I just picked it up from the dealership today and they claim that there is nothing wrong with the car. I have noticed that a lot of people with the same car have the same problem, so I believe that chrysler knows what is wrong but will not admit it because it will cost too much to fix them all.

I will be driving on the street or freeway and the car will just stop. I am looking to see if anyone else has had this problem and to see what is the cause of it and how to get it fixed.
