Whenever I depress the accelerator a small amount, there is an audible whine coming from what seems to be under the dash, or against the firewall in the engine compartment. If I push the pedal down quite a bit, the whine subsides. Letting up, it resumes. I specified "fuel delivery" as the category because it seems tied to the amount of fuel being delivered to the engine, not necessarily the RPM of the engine. I say this because there is a delay in the response by the engine, but not a delay in the subsiding of the whine after pushing the pedal down firmly.
I just bought this car used from a dealer, and am going to take it in this weekend to see about a solution.
