Chrysler issued a recall bulletin on Aug 30, 2010 "K16 A/T shift interlock lever spring"- the transmission gear shift lever interlock spring retainer hook may break resulting in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of the "park" position. Although they replaced the shifter lock spring on my vehicle on Sept 2011, this replaced spring is still fragile and does not address this defect resulting in the replaced part being damaged again in 2020. Requesting NHTSA to re-request Chrysler to repair this spring for vehicles that were repaired but are now re-affected again due to lack of duality of the replacement part.

Very major problem. On a cold start, if the car was off for at least 6 hours, it cranks and cranks and cranks for about 8 seconds before starting, when it does start, it revs all the way to 2500 rpms by itself and slowly goes down. If I try to put it in drive before it stops revving, the rpms go up and down by themselves and my etc light starts flashing and I am unable to control the rpms. I then have to turn off the car and start it again to stop the car spasms. 50% when I start it and let it stop revving before shifting to drive, it goes down to 1000 rpms and I'm good to go. The other 50% of the time, it flashes the etc light and stutters and I must keep restarting the car to be able to safely drive it. I searhed up the problem and saw that bad spark plugs or a dirty intake manifold could be the problems. I then got my spark plugs changed and intake manifold taken out my car to be cleaned out. The problem still persisted. I then searched more and went through a thread of people having the same exact problem, people with Dodge avengers and Chrysler Sebrings all around the year my car model is. Multiple commenters in the thread explained that they put through a complaint to the NHTSA and a recall for their cars were made. Multiple people also said that the part in the car causing this problem is the fault of Chrysler and Dodge. Here's a link to the thread: Https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2008-current-Dodge-avenger/226963-electronic-throttle-control-light-horse-power-loss.html this problem has both happened when my car is in park and in the middle of driving. It happened once when I was in the second lane on a three lane highway. This was the most dangerous situation because the car started to slow down in the middle of the highway until I was able to get to the shoulder and turn off the car. It's been happening since 2/3/20 but today, (2/15/20) was the harshest symptoms

The door lock. The piece that pop's up and down. If you have the window down and got your resting on the door when you start down the road and the doors lock automatically the piece that moves up and down when it goes down it will pinch your skin bad as it trys to pull your skin down in the hole. On both sides of the front doors. Bad enough to bring your skin. It really hurts. I have never had a car to do that. Its not just me other people have drove the car and says the same thing. After a few hundred times I remember to watch for it. I have tried everything to get it not to do that. The only way I see is cut the piece off but that would be unsafe. I don't think the piece comes off in a easy way.

To NHTSA I just purchase a 2007 Chrysler sabring. I took my daughter and myself out to dinner that evening and enjoyed our night as we got back in the car an start heading home just as I got on the freeway I suddenly realize that the interior dashboard light went out and it is not turning on. I was unable to see the speed thermometer. I pulled over and took a uber home. I look online regards to this part it is called instrument cluster. From what I read online this part goes out all the time on this vehicle. Unable to see what speed I'm going.I cannot drive please help to have this part fixed repair or replace the instigate cluster (interior lights) all other interior lights like the radio heater/ac panel lights works. I thank god thatthe traffic on the highway was not happy or busy I was able to pull over to the side of the freeway and then I look at all the panels the button for the lights and no matter what I did interior like did not turn on. There was no accident caused by this because I was safe but it is unsafe for driving on the road not able to see the speed you're going. Can we please figure out how to get this taking care of that is dangerous to drive at night unable to see the speed when but they stream crossing you don't know how fast you're going to estimate when to press on your break. Knowing younger kids think they know how to control the speed and I think not to be put in that position when you cannot see the speed it will take a chance on anything to my heart is not safe to drive on road at all I just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart to safety committee group for the government I urge you please take care of the situation and issue thank you for taking the time and reading my request.please contact me and inform me on how is this gonna get taken care of.or ever is not either way please inform call or text me..........

I am very concerned about my airbag light coming on 1-2 times a month. Does that mean the air bags may suddenly deploy while I am sitting at a light, or not deploy when involved in a crash? my second concern is that my dashboard lights started dimming and eventually went out on their own. I cannot drive at night any more.I took it to a mechanic and thinking it was a simple fuse problem. No, it has to do with the mechanic removing the dashboard and going into the instrument cluster box and replacing simething in there. I have been quoted $350-to $375 dollars.cannot afford that. My new problem: Driving home, getting ready to back up my drive way, the car is running hot, when I went to shift from drive to reverse, the car cut off.had a hard time taking the carout of reverse to park. Like it was stuck or jammed.my neighbors came out to help push it out of the middle of the street and the front wheels were locked. The men eventually got it pushed to the side of the street. The car starts an run S with no problem my mechanis tells me it is the gear shifter cable us broken. I thought tose were made to last in a car. My car is now locked in park until I canget that fixed. As a senior on a fixed income I cannot afford to drive this old car I have sadly paid for.

The car will stop suddenly while driving I've been told its an electrical issue in the transmission, but I see from the recalls that Chrysler knows about these issues yet these cars are still been sold and driven even though they can have very dangerous consequences. The doors locks and unlocks on their own, the lights flicker. The car will also while in park jerk and rev as if someone is hitting the gas even though they are not, this also happens when in drive and my foot is on the break

Air bag indicator light constantly beeps and stays on for periods of time. When I'm on the on-ramp entering a highway and driving in a curve the brake indicator light comes on. Sometimes it comes on while driving on a flat surface. Since I've had this car, the right front tire pressure has never read. It just reads -- where the number should be. I have had to replace my crank position sensor twice. I lost acceleration while driving.the second time I had to replace the electrical throttle something (etc) as well. Now it is out a 3rd time. Luckily I was in my driveway this time! please recall!

The 2007 Chrysler Sebring touring car was listed in the consumer magazines as having a steering and driving feel issue. It tends to make you over correct left and right. It is very hard to drive and is dangerous to drive on slippery, rain, wet, light snow surfaces. On dry surfaces there is already the issue of trying to go straight without overcorrecting. There a lack of road feel and plenty of body roll like a 1970 or 1980 Mercedes. I own a 2007 2.7 touring 6 cylinder Chrysler Sebring now for 4 years and I have had the same issues from the first day I bought it new. The dealers say they can not find anything wrong with it. Why in 2007 the consumer magazine who tested the cars wrote it up as having a bad steering feel that they were uncomfortable with, and they were expert drivers. You can not control this car under safely under normal to light rain and light snow driving conditions. You have to slow down under the highway driving speed of 45mph, which can get you a ticket, on intersection speed of 55-60 mph. I have been driving for over 40 years with a very good driving record. I am surprised that a car like this would be sold to the public using old or outdated technology just for a profit no matter who gets hurt. When the transmission would not come out of park I was sent a recall from Chrysler and they fixed no fee. I have had wiring issues bulbs blowing and speedometer lights out so you can not see at night. Trouble with fuses and modules to be replaced. I had to at least notify someone on this website. I wasn't aware of this site and I am glad that you guys do the good work that you are doing.

Multiple issues with this vehicle. The latest one is the most serious. A faulty ABS sensor cause the brakes to operate abnormally. The ABS light may come on then go off and (periodically goes on and off). Regardless of the light status, the ABS system randomly engages and does not allow the vehicle to stop in a safe manner. The ABS when engaged resists the driver from apply pressure to the brake pedal. The result is the car not stopping. Luckily I was going slow and there was no one around other wise there would have been an accident. The ABS light came on, resisted my braking force then went off and allow the brakes to engage as anticipated. The roads were normal, dry and free of debris/ loose fill. This happened twice over two days. On the second day I parked the car and let it sit until it's service date. The service department diagnosed a faulty sensor with code C1044. They said it was due to rust. First this is a 2007 car, second if rust on a sensor is going to inhibit normal braking then the part is defective and or the design is defective. I was lucky some one else is not going to be. ABS is designed to pump the brakes under certain conditions. I'm sure normal driving at 25 mph on a dry normal surface isn't one of them. Even if the ABS fails the operator should still be able to stop the car by applying manual force to the brake petal. This failure does not allow effective use of the brakes! second issue is the lights (both interior and exterior dimming) with audible surges in the climate control blower. The dealer says this is due to my remote starter even though this issue has been occurring well before the remote starter was involved. Third issue is the rear window repeatedly coming out of track there were other issues with the brakes rotors warping and brake light coming on, gas cap light coming on, tire sensors

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that the cup holder was supposed to come with a specially designed cup. The contact went to the dealer to inquire about the cup and was informed that the cup was never put into production. The contact stated that the cup holder's temperature goes up to 140 degrees. The contact is unsure of what type of cup can be used in the cup holder without damaging the vehicle. There was no failure. The current mileage was 2,900.
