Sebring LX 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,427 miles

This was one of the hard to reproduce problems - it was most noticeable when heading down a hill and slowing to make a left turn. The steering wheel would produce a moaning sound as you turned.

Sebring 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,568 miles

We began hearing a thumping noise in the front end of the car somewhere either in the steering system or in the suspension system. When the car is cold in the morning it takes about 20 miles of driving before we can reproduce the sound. If the car is hot in the afternoon the sound can be reproduced almost immediately. Also if the car is sitting idle for 20 minutes it takes a little longer to reproduce the sound.

Have tried several mechanics and no real solution. One of the mechanics believes it is the RACK. But since this is very expensive I have not done the work until I am more sure that this is the problem. Waiting for an answer
