The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle continued to accelerate. The emergency brake was engaged in order to stop the vehicle. The contact was able to resume driving cautiously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the rear and front brakes were replaced. The rotors were resurfaced. Also, the technician informed the contact that the tie rods were faulty; however were not replaced at that time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000. Updated 11/14/12
