Update from Aug 5, 2012: now we move to tx .and the same problem has happened again. spring chrysler said the cable assembly was defected. they but a new one on again.this was at 49,000 mi. this time it cost me even though i had bumper to bumper extended warranty.
Update from Aug 5, 2012: now it's the third time this lever has to be fixed. this time they said the seat recliner assembly has to be at fault. they replaced it and it still didn't release good. this was at 53,000mi. . now i'm at 66,000 and it broke again. this makes 10 times i have been to the dealers for this problem either to make and appo. or wait for parts to be ordered. I'm very mad that this problem has not been any concern to chrysler. this might be the last one i buy!

I am writing you because I am regretting the place we purchased the car from and as it stands now do not feel inclined to ever purchase a car from them again. Before the warranty ran out on my car both top seat levers for reclining the seats had broken. This was covered under warranty and fixed along with a sensor that had went bad. Within 6 months the leavers and the passenger’s seat cover zipper broke. I had to pay this time to get them fixed and in doing so they fixed just one of the levers and the seat cover. Even though I had requested both. When I called him back he stated that it was not in the estimate that he gave me and that they would need to charge additional to fix it.
I was very upset, being a busy mother of 4 and also a very busy business woman It wasn’t worth my fight at the time. However, the lever and the zipper on the passenger seat has now broke a third time. I have been and so has my son in contact several times with Tim Nordquist the service manager at Performance Chrysler and he has been giving us the go around and is not feeling it is his responsibility to fix it. My son had taken the car in about 3 months ago because I was out of town on business. One of the service men took pictures and told him they would get back to him on their decision. They never got back to us. Two weeks later my son called to check on the status. They told him they could probably fix it but they needed to get the OK from corporate. Two weeks later we had not heard anything. I than called left a couple messages and Tim finally called me back, he said he would see what he could do and that I would have to bring it in so they could take pictures. I told him we had already done that and should not have to do it again. Tim stated he would need to find the pictures then and that he would give me a call back. He called me back a week later and left a message on my voice mail stating that they would fix it for $100.00. Just to verify I called him and got his voicemail and left him a message stating, †I just want to be clear, for $100.00 you are going to fix both levers and the seat cover.†and I asked him to give me a call back. He again called back another week later and said no we are just going to fix the seat cover for that the rest you will have to pay for.
Needless to say I’ve spent too much time and I am very frustrated. The car was still under warranty when it was fixed the first time and not long after it broke again. I feel that if the parts were new and installed correctly I would expect them to last longer than they did first time around not to mention that they have been replaced more than once. My car seldom has others in it and when it does it is well taken care of. It should not be falling apart at such a young age.

Was told this is very common in this car and the fix only lasts 6 months.
