Have a 2010 Sebring convertible that I love. In August of 2015 the "check engine" light came on. I had made a couple of long trips previously and car had run fine.
Took it to dealer ( not Chrysler ) to have it checked out. they found carbon buildup on a piston. Recommended a new engine-
3 grand. I said hell no. I have an extended warranty but they will not cover carbon buildup. The shop ended taking it apart and scrubbing the engine/pistons? They could not get the check engine light to shut off. I have been using Lucas Oil gas treatment ever since. Light is still on for engine. Got in the car today and it was running crappy. l let it sit for 3 or 4 hrs. Started it up- now sounds ok. But now feeling a little insecure about driving long distances. Any recommendations?
