We have replaced the resistor behind the glove box 4 times already. The last one worked for about 6 months, the longest yet. Now the blower does not work at all up front and only on high in the back. Does this indicate a larger problem? I've heard that this means the blower motor is on it's way out and that is high dollar to fix, any other ideas?

this was an easy part replacement once i knew what the problem was.
make sure you give them your vin # because there's different types of ac resisters- good luck
Update from Jul 31, 2009: as you can see in the picture this is the electronic resistor which cost about 100.00 (their only really good at stiffing us). but you can fix this real cheap. take the plastic cover off the resistor and you see the electronic parts. the part that goes bad is the transistor. its a 18 or 20 amp transistor and it only cost less then 5.00. you just have to find a electronic person to switch it out. The reason why these are going out is that there made sh*tty in china. i bet that if you sent me yours, repair it, shipped it back to you. It would all be under 20.00 bucks. just think i almost gave them 100.00 bucks. thank god i have a great electronics friend
Update from Oct 15, 2011: another ac blower resister just went out. my new one only lasted 3 months. wont ever buy another one. found a way to repair it

I had the same problem with the van I traded to get this van. I had a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan. Which makes this more anoying!

I've purchased a fan sensor from the local autoparts retail for approx $90. It worked for about two months, the blower fan worked according to the dashboard dial knob. Then after two months it went out. I replaced the piece under the lifetime limited warranty. It worked again for the next month. I'm debating whether to replace the whole blower fan assembly or keep getting the fan sensor replaced. Bottom line: what an annoyance. The fan is stuck on high- the moment I turn on the ignition I literally get a gale of air. Any feedback for a fix - I'm open ears.
