Drivers window will not go up. Have read hundreds of complaints online. Some say Chrysler knows about it but not enough to recall from insiders while some dealers deny knowing, even though friends are employees there and repair 2-3 per week. Oops caps.

The airbag light came on and stays on in my 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. At the same time, the cruise control became inoperable and the dashboard lights stopped working. When we took it to the dealer, we were told that the problems were all related to the onboard computer and that it could take thousands of dollars just to diagnose the problem. They said some 2001's were recalled but "not your VIN #." asked if there was a problem with the airbag or whether it would deploy, we were told there was no way of knowing without doing the major diagnostics. They refused to give an estimate or a ceiling on the price. This is unfair and we are worried that the airbag will not deploy and that there may be significant instability in the on-board computer which could lead to a serious safety problem.

Radio shorted out in hot and humid weather conditions when A/C was in use. After several episodes of shorting out, all lights on the instrument panel also shorted out and radio/cd/tape unit was non-functioning from that day, 8/1/05, until present. When dealer investigated, said water was leaking into radio and caused short to back speakers. Dealer fixed instrument panel but could not fix radio/tape/cd unit. Subsequently, in January 2005, I read that Chrysler had issued a recall for 2001 vans with this problem because a fire could result in the rear speaker, but it only recalled units with the basic radio, not the combination radio/cd/tape unit as in our van. Our unit is thus excluded from the recall by the VIN number. Numerous attempts to get Chrysler to expand their recall have been unsuccessful---they have merely "documented my complaint." Will it take a catastrophic fire to get them to expand the recall? not to mention that we have lived without a radio/cd/tape player for a year while we have attempted to get this resolved! the vents over the radio have allowed A/C condensation to short the radio out completely and I want the unit replaced asap!

All the instrument controls (including the odometer reading) were going all over the place. For example; rpms would go from 0-3 and back, fuel would go from E-F and everywhere in between, speed would flucuate from 40-110 etc. This would all happen at once with all the panels. Took to dealer and could not find problem and diagnostic testing did not reveal that there ever was a problem. Five days later same exact problem except now the temperature gauge was also affected. Stopped at another dealership and they also could not detect that there was a problem although they could see that the displays were still not working correctly. After a call to engineers the only thing they could think of was the instrument cluster panel was defective.
