This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chrysler dealer.
This happened about 4 years ago, i had just got a brand new Chrysler town and country and at just over 30,000 miles something major happened to the transmission. For some reason the car wouldn't shift out of 1st or 2nd gear! Unfortunately i didn't find that out until i was already on the road headed to work. I had to drive about 60 miles total that day going a top speed of about 35 MPH. Lets just say i was pissed! Fortunately since the car was only a few months old i still had the warranty so i took it back to the dealer ship (going 35mph all the way!) They fixed it and it was running like new again. Though i have to say even though I've never had transmission problems since then, alot of other things have gone wrong with this car. Right now its got about 75,000 miles and I've already had to waste around $950 on repairs. I don't think im ever gunna buy a Chrysler again and i certainly wouldn't ever recommend one!

I have talked to a few other people who had same trouble with transmission on town & country vans after
reaching 100,000 miles. Chrysler needs to do a recall on the transmission, I think they know there is a problem.
It won't even code, but it doesn't shift correctly either.
