Power locks on the back sliding doors do not work. This is a big safety concern. I have to pull the lock up very hard from one side as I pull on the handle on the other side. This is happening on both doors of the vehicle. If their was an accident or fire it would be very hard to get my child out of the back seat. I am asking for a recall. I was looking this problem up online and their are pages of complaints and forums of people with the same issue.

I was driving at 35mph, then I slowed down to 20mph to cross over a set of railroad tracks. As I was crossing the tracks, the drivers side sliding door opened, then closed. (the doors are remote control doors.) this was the very first time that this has ever happened. I was talking to a few people about this situation, to come to find out, that this is not uncommon. I would like to know why Chrysler hasn't done anything about this problem. They need to step up to the plate and fix the problem.

Automatic sliding doors continue to fail and need to replace electrical unit. Have replaced 2 times on both sides. Automatic door locks do not work by either keyless entry or by manually pushing button. Makes getting into vehicle with 2 small children very difficult especially since there is no key hole on passenger side door.

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off, the sliding doors would open without driver intent. The dealer stated that there were no complaints regarding the failure. The dealer removed the door sensor at the owners expense. The VIN was not available at when the complaint was filed. My right forearm was crushed when the driver's side power sliding door closed on it after encountering an obstruction (a lawn chair). I had pressed the button to open the door, reached around to put a drink in a cooler on the back seat floor, the door ran into a lawn chair and reversed, crushing my arm. Six days later, my arm is still horribly bruised and sore. I had someone take pictures to document this accident. The dealer didn't even know that the side doors have no safety sensors like on the power liftgate. The side power sliding doors should also have safety sensors! if it had been my 2 year old grandson, he'd be dead now!

My 2 year old son was exiting our Chrysler Town & Country van when he realized he had forgotten his dvd player in the car. I had already pressed the button to automatically close the door and when he reached in the door closed securely on his fingers. I had to manually open the door and get his fingers released from the door, which were smashed!!! we were promised when we purchased this vehicle that it had a sensor that would not allow for this kind of thing to happen. We have since looked at newer ones, and again have been guaranteed that this is the only minivan that promises to stop the door closing process if something is in it's way!!! with all of these promises, I have to say that when we contacted Chrysler about this, they sent out an inspector that took pictures of the minivan, and experienced not being able to get the door stopped himself. They mailed us a letter about a week or so later that said they were sorry for my childs injured hand, but if you read your owner's manual that it states to be careful when opening or closing the electric doors!!! we have heard of several other cases of this happening, and one was a child's head that got closed in the door. What do we have to do to prevent this from being more serious than a hand!!! Chrysler does not care as long as they're selling cars and putting safety hazards in fine print!!! unfortunately we do not know the exact date of the incident since it did happen 2 years ago, but as you can see we are still very upset about this!!!

I used the power sliding passenger door with remote on key chain and interior power sliding door buttons and the problem is it just stopped working, one day it will unlock and lock when using the buttons but will not close properly or open automatically or close automatically. We have only used the vehicle less than one year when this occurred and the other side is fine but the passenger side does not work properly.

: the contact stated all the gauges on the dash fail to work intermittently. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. Also, the sliding door sensor failed to stop the door when it comes into contact with an obstruction. The dealer indicated the doors operated as designed.

: the contact stated while the power control was pressed for the automatic sliding door, it opened and closed onto a passenger's leg upon exiting the vehicle resulting in minor injuries. The automatic sliding door had a previous history of intermittently opening and closing when the power control panel was pressed. Although the vehicle was seen by a dealer, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem.

Dt consumer states that the automatic side passenger door on the vehicle opens and closes without being accessed to do so. The vehicle has been serviced twice, both times the service dealer stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.
