problem #2

Sep 102007

Town & Country 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that the brakes failed on two different occasions and had to be replaced. For the first failure at less than 10,000 miles, the rotors were replaced at the contact's expense. For the second failure, at approximately 15,000 miles, the dealer replaced the rotors at no charge. Currently, the brake pedal is vibrating and clicking whenever the brakes are applied. The speed was unknown. The current mileage was 17,900 and failure mileage was 15,000.

While accelerating under "cruise control", the brake pedal becomes unusable and the car cannot be slowed down or stopped unless you turn off the control. This is something you do not have time to do in a "panic" situation. I have complained about this since day one. The dealership has not been able to duplicate the incidents, and has no information on what may cause it let alone how to fix it. I have had passengers see me use both feet on the brake pedal in an attempt to slow down. Please note that this happens while driving within speed limits and under good driving conditions. The latest incident will be reported below.
