problem #1

Oct 232014

Town & Country LX 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

First occurrence of problem happened at low speed, 25 MPH so do not yet know if it will happen at higher speed. Engine stalled, would not start until heater blower switch was set to "off". Car was restarted, heater turned back on, and engine stalled again within a minute. Repeated the process to restart. All of this occurred in less than one mile of driving, the distance from our home to workplace.

Additional problem for reference in case it could be a factor: ABS warning light is on and stays on. One wheel speed sensor has been replaced so far, and the other three are in hand to be installed within a couple of days. This light has been on for about two weeks, and hasn't caused any problems until possibly now.

This vehicle stalling I consider to be an extremely serious safety problem. Like most people we can't afford a new car or expensive repairs. Also like most people we carry precious cargo in this vehicle; in our case, our grandchildren. If anyone knows what could be causing this problem please respond. Also, it is NOT the notorious shut-down after fueling problem in this case.
