I was traveling last night and both of my headlights went out. I am very fortunate that I did not wreck!!! the lights went off and after I toggled the headlight switch 3-4 times the lights came back on. However, about 3 minutes later, they went off again. This time it happened on a curvy road with no street lights! I toggled the switch again and they came back on. I took my van home and it has been parked ever since! I have noticed via the internet that this is a common problem with this vehicle! I hope that you all will investigate and determine that this needs to be dealt with. I had 3 of my children with me when this happened and I shutter to think of what could have happened!!!! please fix this problem. It appears that Chrysler has known of this issue for a while but has failed to fix the issue. Maybe you all can force them to fix it!!!

Headlight switch does not always work. Initially it would take playing with switch to turn lights on. Occasionally lights will turn off while driving. Now the parking lights will not always turn off.

I have had the same issue as many others on this posting. My 2005 chrys. Twn & cntry started by the lights flickering on and off, then recently has been hard to turn on. I have to toggle on/off switch and brights to finally get them to turn on. Once I get them on they often turn off by themselves and I have to pull off the road to get them back on again through the whole process. It is getting increasingly harder to operate the lights.

About may or June of this year, the headlights of our 2005 Town & Country van started failing to come on when the interior switch was turn "on". at first, simple toggling would get them to work though the frequency of having to do this as well as the lights failing to stay on have increased significantly in the recent months. This is my wife's primary work vehicle and she often returns from work when it's dark. She had a number of instances where the headlights have just "gone out" while she was driving. I was looking on the internet recently to see if there were any posts as to what is causing this to happen and not many have posted an definitive answer to the headlight failure. My other major issue with this 2005 Town & Country is the ac system. We have had this fixed over 11 times since we purchased the vehicle new in October of 2005 with the first repair coming less than a month after we purchased the van.

The headlights have suddenly gone off on several instances, with no apparent pattern. Jiggling the switch works sometimes. On others, I have to drive home pulling back on the high beam switch, which is none too popular with fellow motorists. Overall, this has happened 10 to 15 times. Even if I turn the engine off and restart this does not necessarily solve the issue. I live in an area with roads that flood and often have no shoulders. Several close calls have resulted while driving home in the rain and suddenly losing the lights. Your assistance would be appreciated.

Both headlights stopped working at night. I had to hold the bright light switch on for an hour drive home in the dark. The next day they didn't work, then when I took it to the mechanic, they fiddled with the switch and got it working. But many many folks are complaining about this on-line. Please issue a recall.

It first started by failing to turn on after a few times of trying to turn on the lights on the dash. It then progressed by turning off while driving in the city. It worked for a few months without incident until 2 months ago. After a cold start the lights would come on but after driving it to the store about 3-4 miles away and restarting the car it has failed repeatedly. I believe this to be a serious safety issue. I've had to drive home by manually holding the high beams on to get home. There was almost an accident due to this problem.

I own a 2005 Chrysler Town and country and have been having issues with the headlights going out or not turning on. I have had it checked but it only happens on occasion so they can't find anything wrong. My wife has been driving home at night and the light just went out and then she couldn't see. From looking online I have seen numerous people have this issue and it needs to be fixed. Thanks.

Headlights did not respond reliably to "on/off" switch. Intermittent headlight function - sometimes ( now more often) no headlights at all unless 'brights' knob on left of steering wheel pulled and held towards driver; then lights will stay on as long as lever is held. Unsafe to drive in rain/ nighttime.

2005 Chrysler Town and country. Headlights sporadically shut off while driving at night. After several clicks of the switch they come back on, but will turn off again without any warning. This is very dangerous. Browsing online shows many people are having the same problem and yet no recall yet? it appears the switch is faulty.

The headlights don't come on right-A-way. It takes about 4-10 attempts before they come on. A couple of times they turned off a second or two after a successful attempt to turn them on. This has been going on for the past 2 months, but now it has become more frequent to the point where it happens every time we need to use the lights.
