Town & Country LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

We have had this vehicle since new and have had all the recalls completed and serviced as needed. One thing I have noticed over the last couple years is a high squeal when the car is started up first, and when turning the squeal gets louder. As this is happening, if it has been raining at all, the squeal gets even louder and the power steering goes out, making it very difficult to turn. Once the car has been driven a mile or two, all the noise and problems go away. We have had the power steering pump replaced, we have had the power steering fluid replaced and we have had all the linkages and ball joints replaced, and yet this continues to happen, and it is now starting to happen on our 2007 van, which I will mention later.

Town & Country Touring

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

This was the second of all the (electrical?) problems I have had with this car, I took it into the dealership right away and they said they could not "duplicate" the problem. I was leaving my kids school when it was raining and drove through a puddle-- the power steering went out. It has done this ever since--

At this moment,with170,000 miles, the lights on radio panel are out (on and off), overhead lights don't work (on and off), the passenger side sliding door doesn't work, the DVD and CD players are both out (have been for several years), the check engine light comes on and off at will, the windshield wipers seem to have their timing off (they touch when they cross and wrap up on each other, breaking the wipers), the airbag light comes on and off at will, the power steering goes out if I drive through any deep puddle (since day 1),

The power steer completely goes out when it rains. You can barely control the steering wheel because it locks up. I told this vehicle into 2 Dodge dealerships and a Carmax and none of them could fix the issue. When I called Chrysler they told me they could not and would not do anything about it because I was the third owner on the vehicle. They would not refer me to a mechanic or give me any dealerships name to help fix the problem. At this point I will NEVER, EVER buy a Dodge or Chrysler vehicle again. I will do everything in my power to make sure none of my friends or family purchases this horrible vehicle. This vehicle is unsafe to drive and the manufactures of this vehicle is unwilling to even help you to solve the problem. Congratulation Dodge and Chrysler you have made another American product look bad.
