Having constant electrical issues of one kind or another. Currently experiencing a "charging problem" indicator. While this is occurring, I have a loud whining sound that emulates a power steering noise.

I have had several problem with my electrical problems with my van in the last year. The first time it happened i had gone through a puddle and gotten the undercarriage wet. The horn starts going off and clicking coming from the steering column then smoke and the van shuts down. I took van for repairs they say they can't get it to happen but they know somethings wrong since they heard horn going off when I pulled into parking lot. They tear the dash apart and only thing they can think it possibly be is a piece in the ignition. The second time this happened i was taking my children to school and once again the undercarriage had become wet and horn starts blowing the only way I could get the horn to quit was to slightly engage the brake, after this I take van to have the horn disconnected so that I can get to school myself. After doing this the problem went away for a few months. Then as the weather started to get cold I went through car wash and all electronics quit working after hearing clicking in the steering column. Then when I get home and turn van off all electronics turn on and stay on when key is removed from the ignition in the off position. When vehicle dried out everything was fine. Then yesterday I run van through car wash on way to work avoiding the undercarriage wash. Then on my way to work I suddenly feel and jolt and the check engine light comes on. I slow down and realize my transmission is not wanting to shift. So I turn all electronics off and limp the van to work. When I get to work I notice suit that had come out form under the hood. Open hood and find that the fuss box had caught on fire. My husband came and got van and drove van home after removing the burnt fusses the van would not go over 35 mph. Today I am calling my insurance company to see how I should proceed with this problem since I had a fire in the fuss box and am going to take it into shop to find out what the cost is going to be and hopefully an end to all these electrical problems.

After fill in gas, drove about 3/4 mile, trying to make right turn at an intersection, suddenly lost power. Nothing works, no power steering wheel, no brakes. The car finally stopped at opposite side of road. Turned the key back on after several minutes, everything went back to normal.

We had just pulled out of the drive and headed down the street, maybe half a block, and the van just shut-off...like you just turned the ignition switch off. Then, the next day the a/c turned itself ON intermittently as my wife was heading to work. Wondering if its a computer problem or 2 separate issues. I'm just worried that we're going to pull out onto a highway and it's gonna shut off and cause a serious accident. Any help would be appreciated.

intermittently, the air conditioning fan, windshield wipers, power windows, radio, dvd player and power outlets all go out. if you turn the key to the "OFF" position, those items turn back on, turn the key to "ON" again and they all shut off. there's no telling when it will happen...first time it happened, we were on a trip and it happened repeatedly over the course of 2 days about 5 or 6 times. dealer replaced ignition switch. This didn't fix the problem!

air conditioning fan, windshield wipers, power windows, radio, DVD player system, and power outlets all non-functioning on start-up. had to leave the van home and take another vehicle. when i came back a couple hours later, it was working fine. took it into the dealer we bought it from (Honda of Kenosha, Wisconsin) and they sent it over to Chrysler for diagnosis...end result....they can't make the problem happen so they can't fix it...what a surprise!...since the problem didn't happen for us for over 500 miles after the first time...how did they suppose they were going to make it happen by driving it 25 miles? and then assume there's nothing wrong...or at least, they can't fix it because they don't know what's wrong!...

Got off work one day, unlocked the car using the button on the key and tried to start when everything was lit on the dashboard. As soon as I turned the key everything went dead. Got a jump and then the security light started flashing. It continues to happen periodically and it seems pulling the negative terminal and putting it back temporarily fixed the problem but I keeps happening.
