Over the past year, all four valve stems have broken off each tires pressure monitoring sensor resulting in an unexpected flat tire. The first was while routine airing of the tire, the second was in a car wash, and two occurred in one day as I attempted to take off the stem caps. The ease at which all four broke is extremely concerning (simply unscrewing the cap, for example), and so it seems to me that it is complete plausible that the stems could have snapped off while on cruising on the freeway or driving in congested traffic, causing a flat tire at speed, which would have resulted in an extremely dangerous situation. After checking a Chrysler minivan blog, it appears this issue is common among all Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicle with this type sensor. I have checked with Chrysler but am not aware of any recall with this device.
