Shortly after we purchased this van (used, less than 2 years ago), the heater began blowing only intermittently. The van was still under a dealer warranty, so we brought it in and had the blower motor replaced. The problem continued to recur. We replaced the battery and thought that fixed the issue for awhile. Then it started happening again and became more frequent. The heater rarely worked and winter was coming. We brought it in again, and the y replaced the assembly for $600. Problem remained. We brought it back in and they spent 10 hours monkeying with the wiring. The problem now appears fixed, but we'll see if it lasts... This van has been nothing but trouble. I would not recommend it to anyone!

I had this problem for a while, took it to them dealer, they said they fixed it. It happened again and they changed the fan. I was never told there was a recall and I was charged.

My front blower fan does not work. Rear is OK I changed the resistor module as well as the fan and this did NOT fix anything. Here is the sequence I went through after reading the on-line forums. Most folks said it was the resistor module so I bought a new one. I measured the new resistor module with an ohmmeter before I installed it. It was identical to the original part. I then changed out the fan I also tested both the new and old fan with a current meter and both were the same. So now I have two new parts installed and the problem persists. I then disconnected the two prong plug at the fan. Then I connected the ground side of the fan to the resistor module and connected the positive side of the fan directly to the +12 of the battery. The fan now works as it should and has all four speeds. This tells me that the resistor module works correctly. The only thing bypassed at this time is the power source which is activated by turning on the ignition. When the ignition is turned on, it should activate a relay which will then power the fan. I am looking for this relay and or fuse which operates this circuit. I cannot find any reference to where this relay or fuse is located. There is no manual available for this vehicle according to the auto parts store and I can't find an on-line schematic or pictures for this vehicle either. The owners manual is also no help So the question is ....Where is the relay and/or fuse or is it a problem with the main power module TIPM "Piece of Crap" which is a NON-serviceable and back ordered item. This is a pain in the ass due to making sure to turn off the fan when turning off the car. If I don't , the battery will be dead the next time I want to drive the car.I talked to 3 dealers about this and all they did was scratch their heads and said was "Bring it in". These clowns don't know anything..... can't fix anything. Seams to me, if this TIPM is so heavily back-ordered due to failures, it is time for a recall.

Our 2008 Chrysler Town and Country has the same problems as many other have mentioned. All the electrical components going off (horn blowing, wipers, lights flashing). It happens randomly as I'm going down the road or when I open the door, or unlock it with the key FOBs. Most times there's a check engine light with codes that talk about low power from the PCM / ECM and replace ignition switch. Due to recall we've had the ignition switch and FOBs replaced, but it's still happening.
I've also had the PCM / ECM replaced and it's still not fixed. Even after replacing the PCM, the codes read the same. I have found that when the van starts acting up, pop the hood and locate the TIPM (black box on right side of the engine) and I slap the top of it and it all stops for the moment. That leads me to believe it's the TIPM, but based on others' comments, replacing that won't fix it either so I may not do that.
Also, the front blower fan tends to cut on and off randomly while the back blower fan is fine. I've replaced the blower fan motor, blower fan resistor, and the head control unit (twice) and still no fix. I've been told the front blower is routed through the TIPM, while the back blower fan is on a direct relay. Can't direct relay the front because it'll turn on the check engine light. In other words, another one bites the dust and Chrysler gets their money!
Update from Aug 20, 2017: So far, I've had the PCM and TIPM replaced and this has fixed the front blower fan issue. It would usuall stop working again the next day after clearing codes from old TIPM. The old TIPM was giving wrong codes before, so we've replaced all the blower fan components we mentioned in original complaint, but replacing the TIPM seems to have fixed it. We shall see!
