Every time I start the van I have to reprogram my set radio stations not to mention I have to turn the radio back on. The dvd on the back seats needs to be set manually to see the movies, and more than most the heater does not work. You have no control with the control panel unless turning the van off and on again.

This is a slowly reoccurring problem that got worse over time. first it started off that when van was running and in park if riverside door was open the dash and wipers would go crazy. I thought it was a safety feature. yeah right. then yesterday drew the line I hit a bump on my rd ( dirt rd) and the car shut off off and driver side door controls don't work.

then as I was driving down the rd the dash and wipers go crazy and kept doing it every 30 sec. it's fricken annoying but I bought the van last yr with no warranty cause there wasn't one. we bought it from Ford it was too old for a certify warranty. so now I have to call dealer and see what recalls are due and see about the electrical issue but by going on here we think we know the problem so thank u. I just prey it won't cost arm and leg. I don't know what fricken engineer designed the van where if there is an electrical issue that the van shuts off. thank God I was on a back rd God forbid I was on the highway. I have 3 kids and they are always with me we could have seriously got hurt or even killed. this needs to be addressed NOW not later when people start getting killed over a stupid malfunction.

Town & Country 3.3

The instrument lights on the speedometer, tachometer, engine temp. and fuel gauge started dimming, then flickering on and off, and then when out completely.

I took it to my regular mechanic, thinking that they would have to replace the bulb.

I found out that on the 2008 there is no bulb, but rather a computer board with LEDs on it and the entire board would have to be replaced. The part alone was $288.00 (pretty expensive for a bulb) and the labor, because they had to take the dash apart twice, once for the diagnosis and again for the replacement. Of course the part was not available locally and took 4 days to arrive and the bad circuit board had to be returned to Chrysler or the price would have been higher. I have owned a lot of cars in my lifetime but never did I have to replace instrument lights and certainly not at 55,000 miles.
