problem #2

Town & Country Touring

  • Automatic transmission
  • 157,000 miles

PROBLEM: When driving fairly straight forward, the van drives just fine. But when taking a right or left turn or slightly veering off to the left or right. It seems like the calipers are engaging which not only significantly slows the vehicle down, but also it sounds like the ABS systems are engaging or some gears are functioning.

After driving like this for about 20 mins, I noticed extreme heat when I put my hands near both the front rims. The back rotors had no excessive heat. That's when I noticed my brake pads were fairly thin.

Attempted Solution: AFTER REPLACING THE PADS, it did not change or resolve the problem. If the problem continues, it will wear the pads out very quickly.

SOLUTION: I have no idea. Any input would greatly appreciated.

Could it be stuck calipers? Bad brake lines? I had replaced the front hub assembly a year ago...

Town & Country LX 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Has anyone experienced the automatic brake system to take over while driving (not braking) in one tire? This has happened twice causing me to go into on-coming traffic once and onto a lawn of a business. There is no ice on the road, I'm not braking, no snow this is going to KILL somebody; if it already hasn't.

My personal mechanic says to remove all brakes & Brake parts, replace the ABS system and other items will be over $5000.00 im still paying on the bloody vehicle, I cant aford to drive it ( Kill myself , family and somebody else ) and I cant afford to fix it. 2008 T & C
