It is well known by reputable license mechanic that the brakes of the 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY, which this mechanic has serviced many many many TIMES TOWN AND COUNTRY VEHICLES, were of bad quality and needed to be replaced by quality brakes and that includes rotors and pads . I have had to replace them 4 times and now again. Warranties stink .
WHEN YOU PUT IN A BAD PRODUCT INTO A VEHICLE IT SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAR COMPANY FOR SAFETY REASONS TO REPLACE ALL ALL DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS REGARDLESS OF THE YEAR . I have lost confidence in Chrysler's products and will never buy another vehicle listed with your company and suggest anyone buying Chrysler product to do extensive research before considering a purchase.

I am writing about how the Chrysler Town & Country rear brakes on drivers side keep wearing and scraping and grinding every 6 to 9 months. I am concerned that may cause an accident or could cause a serious problem. My mothers van which is a Town and Country 2008 model has had this fixed two times so far and she is not happy she is on a fixed income and can not keep doing this. I feel that this needs to be added to the list of things that have been put out there about problems in this vehicle.

My vehicle has only 55,000 miles and I know I need new brakes, for the 5th TIME!!! I am very disgusted with the brake issues on this vehicle!!! I want compensation and hope there is a class action suit going because not only do I have this issue but have others to, side door still don't shut sometimes, redid bundle hose, radiator, gear shift problems, alternator, passenger side front wheel seems to wear all the time and I keep putting alignment on it, I have to replace a gasket which the dealership told me to wait until it goes and then replace it and I was told it was under warranty and the last time I was in there, they said it was not and they did not have the part for the gear shifter yet. All these problems within 55,000 miles, this vehicle seems like a lemon to me!!!!!!

This is the 4th set of brakes I put on this vehicle about 45,000, I am floored by this and have driven all my life and I have never had to replace brakes like this, really, ceramic brakes!!!! This is B.S.!!!!

The brakes wear out about every 10,000 miles even with ceramic brakes, because they are car brakes on a heavy van instead of a truck brake. I believe something needs to be done about this and I should have some kind of compensation!!!

This is 3rd time replacing pads and rotors and it only has 55,000 miles. I am afraid to drive it. First time for 4 new calipers at an estimated cost of $1100. Have not picked up from Belle tire yet. Front pads and rotors were just done 7,000 mils ago. Ready to sell this van because I am tired of always being worried about brakes.

2008 Limited T & C Loaded with every option! Beautiful looking van! We bought from Chrysler dealer 3 years ago with about 38,000 miles on it. We are now at 79,000 Miles......6 .....THAT'S 6......SIX ..sets of brakes!!!!
Dealer did one set under warranty!!! Never heard of brakes under warranty, but they said they were new when we bought it and they were shot in less than 6000 miles. Can't count the money spent on brakes! Rear Power seat has stopped working twice....$400 each time. HEATER HOSES at 59,000 Miles $375

Very poor brake life. Brakes overheated and warped rotors on a normal mountain road. I am easy on brakes using my right foot (other car is stick shift) and van was not overloaded. l usually do my own brake-jobs expecting intervals 35000 to 60000 miles. My 2003 Chevy Venture had 1 front and rear brake-job in the 89000 miles I owned it. Chrysler has created a dangerous and costly situation for owners. I am sure their dealers and brake shops are not complaining.

Intense shaking and vibration whenever the brakes were used. My opinion, you must have good working brakes or the vehicle is unsafe to drive. Brakes were bad at 8,268 miles - unbelievable.
Dealer reported the front brake disks were warped and initially tried to blame driver misuse, ie dragging and overheating could have caused the rotors to warp. I refused to pay or to accept the return of the vehicle because I was very sure that my (very conservative) driving style did not cause the problem. Eventually the dealer agreed to a compromise - I paid the dealer's cost for new pads and the dealer turned the rotors. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the pads but I did not wish to drive with pads that had been slamming against warped rotors.
The brakes worked OK for a short time but the problem was not fixed. I soon learned the problem was with the design of the brakes, nothing else. Chrysler came out with a limited warranty on the front brakes - if you ad the vehicle between 12 and 24 months there was a $50 deductible, if between 24 and 36 months a $100 Deductible applied.
The problem re occurred at 10,205 miles. Date was 08/26/10 which was more than 24 months. Chrysler redesigned the front rotors (supposedly) to fix the problem. At this point the rear rotors were also warped. This makes sense considering the front brakes were under designed so the rear brakes were overloaded. By this time Chrysler had been sold to Renaut and for some reason a decision was made to reduce the number of dealers resulting in the dealer I purchased my vehicle being relieved of his Chrysler dealership.
The new dealer I went to I have come to loath and will never use again. However at this point I had the brakes repaired, new pads and rotors on the front and the rear rotors turned and new pads at a cost of $396.15. Surprise ! The problem was not fixed.
Same dealer,same problem, 12/06/13, mileage 19,051. Front and rear rotors were warped. All pads and rotors were replaced and I had the brake fluid replaced at a cost of about $1,200.00. Difficult to be more exact because the dealer's invoices are impossible to decipher.
What I got is a piece of @#$&* minivan with 9,000 mile brakes. I don't drive it much, it now has 22,000 miles and I figure I need to do something in the next 4,000 miles like find a substitute for the rotors and pads.
The vehicle has a lifetime warranty, which means it is under warranty until it costs more to fix than the value of the vehicle. Of course the warranty does not include wear parts such as brake pads or rotors.

Front rotors and pads lasted 12,000 miles. I thought its because of my wives driving habits but later found out its not. These brakes are terrible - the worst van brakes ever. For a small fee of about $800 you can replace both front and back rotors and calipers with the HD version of these brakes from the 2013 model. Finally redesigned to make it last.

POS brakes are going out again. This time it's the front. I already had to have my rear brakes completely re-done. I don't drive the vehicle a lot either.
Update from Mar 30, 2015: Just to provide an update on what happened on my rear brakes. I was driving down the highway at normal speed, when I heard a whining sound coming from the rear. I noticed the vehicle was quick to slow down when I disengaged the cruise control. I got out to inspect, and my passenger rear rim was glowing red. The caliper seized!!! Well, when stuff gets that hot, any grease that was present has now been liquified.
It's going to take people getting killed before Chrysler wakes up and fixes the problem. The tolerances are WAAAY too tight.

Brake issue with this van is crazy to say it simply. Bought this 2008 T&C used from a dealer in July 2012, with about 55k miles - they just performed "extensive brake work" prior to me purchasing.
Earlier this year, had brake issues and had all rear brake system parts replaced at about 75k miles at a cost of about $450! Few weeks after replacement the brakes still hadn't "adjusted" so took back to my mechanic, and they change a caliper due to it be a defective part - free of charge.
Now, currently with 87k miles, steering wheel begins to shake upon braking - all I hear is $ cha-ching cha-ching $, take into my mechanic today for regular oil change & check of this annoyance. Yep it's the brakes AGAIN!
2 years - 30k miles and 3 major brake repairs is simply unacceptable! I have owned many of vehicles, and over a longer stretch of time have had NO brake repairs. Brakes aren't something you can ignore when they go bad, so what's a mom to do but pony up and get it fixed.

I had to replace the brakes on this vehicle for the first time at 23000 miles. I made my complaint on mycarstats.com because that's the website I found at the time. There are now over 260 brake complaints on that website for the same blasted issue and Chrysler's fix was to have us take it to a dealer to "fix" the brakes and giving us a $50 cut in price which is laughable considering it cost $300 plus for 99% of the people that had it fixed. What the heck is it going to take before Chrysler actually does something about these blasted vehicles? Most would say get rid of it. Well, when you're a single parent with an income on the lower end of $20k, that's not such an easy proposition, especially when they inflated the price before selling it. I will NEVER purchase another Chrysler vehicle and I want the issues with my current vehicle fixed considering I'm still paying on the blasted loan for a vehicle that is undrivable at the moment. TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE brake complaints on that other site and NOTHING has been done. I even tried to get it declared a lemon and couldn't.

Chrysler engineers designed the brake rotors too small, to help shave weight anywhere they could for gas mileage. I fixed the problem by installing cross drilled and slotted brake rotors, and upgraded the pads from ceramics to semi metallic pads. Three years of hard Atlanta driving, and I'm just now slapping another set of Bendix global semi metallics on the wife's van. No warping, no accelerated pad wear, it stops like it should. Happy wife, happy life!

Replaced front pads and rotors at 11,954 miles; replaced front pads, turned rotors at 19,540 miles; replaced rear pads at 22,081 miles; replaced front pads at 29,323 miles; replaced front calipers at 37,335 miles; replaced rear pads, resurfaced rotors, & replaced rear calipers at 53,651 miles; replace front pads and resurface rotors at 62,566 miles; replace rear pads at 74,xxx miles (having last one done today) WTH!!!!! All this was done at my dealer and I have all the paperwork substantiating it!
Shouldn't this be a class action against either Chrysler or the dealer? It's like I can't drive over 10,000 miles without having to replace brake pads!!! I wish I hadn't bought this van. :(

I have a 2008 Town n Country Touring, it has today 41950 miles on it, THIS IS THE 4TH SET OF BRAKES I'VE PUT ON THIS VEHICLE. I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A VEHICLE AND IN ALL MY LIFE, I HAVE NEVER, NEVER REPLACED BRAKES ON MY VEHICLES AS MANY TIMES AS THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS CRAP, I BELIEVE CHRYSLER OWES US MONEY BACK AND FIX THE CRAP WITH THIS VEHICLE AND I AM CALLING CORP OFFICES, I AM FED UP WITH THIS PIECE OF SCRAP METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the 4th set of front brakes and rotors and the third time replacing the rear pads and rotors, and the van only has 92000 miles on it. To compare, I own a 2009 Mini Cooper, and the front brake pads are nearly TWICE the size of the pads on this gigantic van. This van was made during rough times for Chrysler, so it's obvious they cut corners to save costs. The failures seem to be heat related and in two out of four cases I've experienced warped rotors. Trying out some high performance slotted rotors to see if they help with heat dispersal. I'm done with Chrysler products- they seem to all have the same M.O.- put overpowered engines in cars mated with substandard support systems (brakes, suspension, etc).
