Town & Country Touring 3.8L

Initially the lights on the dashboard would go out from time to time with a lot of flickering. I was told by the dealer it was the cluster. They replaced the cluster at a cost of $500.00 to me. Since then the problem was fixed however another problem began. Every morning the battery is dead. I was told the alternator was only working intermittinaly. The dealer wanted to sell me one for $500.00. I refused and had the alternator bench test 5 times with each test showing it was good. I tried to explain that there is something drawing on the battery when the car sits overnight. To proove that I disconnected the batter when I parked it and the next morning I connected the battery to it's cables and the car started up. The Dealer won't take ownership of the new problem and that's probably because they lack the knowledge and are only in the change part mode. This will be my last Chrysler product...I should have bought a GM product. As a senior citizen living on social security I find this frustrating.

Update from May 29, 2013: To satisfy myself I changed the altenator and the problem still existed, The cluster they had installed was bad and causing the drain. Since it was still under warrentee the dealership replaced the new cluster and the problem was resolved. The only real concern was the mechanic didn't seem to think beyond the altenator even though the problem didn't seem to be consistant with a bad altenator.
