2009 Chrysler Town & Country has a potentially serious flaw with the automatic rear seat. The consumer stated he was removing some suitcases from the well behind the rear sear. During the process, he lost his balance and fell against the buttons on the side that operate the seat folding closure. The backs of both seats began to fold forward. The consumer tried to stop the movement by pushing the buttons, but they kept folding. They finally came to stop and the consumer was able to retrieve the rest of his bags. When the consumer attempted to straighten out the seats by pushing the button, nothing happened. The consumer noticed the part of the mechanism on the right seat was bent. The consumer believed a governor should be installed on the seats to stop the movement if the seat senses an obstruction.
