The van has a known issue with its maker- Chrysler which is with motor of the stow-N-go. The back seat the motor does not work on half of the seat making the seat look "bent" and unable to be used.upon further research it was discovered that this is something that the maker is aware of and many of the motors go out. This is why it's a very hard part to replace costing about 4000 as it needs to be made brand new.the warranty is expired. The frustration is that mopar (Chrysler) will not even consider offering any kind of assistance with this issue as the above mentioned warranty expired. This, however is a known problem to them. They are keeping quiet about as they can't call it a recall when it's not considered a "safety" concern. It is a safety concern as if my child can't sit in the seat. We were told that the seat is not safe to sit in. Spoke to a supervisor at mopar who dismissed me promptly. Would not offer to help with anything since "the vehicle has 105,000 miles on it" unsure why the safety aspect of this wouldn't be important enough to want to help. Will not even entertain the idea of buying an american made vehicle again. Third time owning a Chrysler/doge vehicle with major issues. This is why our economy can't bounce back-too much dishonesty!!

I went out and started my van, the wipers turned on automatically so I thought maybe I had turned the handle somehow... so I turned it off and that's when everything went wrong. All the dash lights started flashing and cycling through start up checks and then saying everything is off ABS, airbags etc. The seat was even repositioning itself. I took out my phone and started recording this weird episode that I have never seen before. I bought this van 5 months ago and don't know of its history, but this is not something anyone should have to deal with. 3 days later my wife was driving down the road when this started happening to her, the difference was that she sits closer to steering wheel then I do and the seat was jerking her back and forth while driving and scared her. Thanks [xxx]. I bought this van because I wanted the stow and go seats and side curtain safety along with everything else. My van is a loaded limited edition with most available options. After looking around the internet it seems like the tipm or a loose connection could be the problem and that dealerships are pretty much a waste of time for help on this. Chrysler knows of the issues because it happens across their vehicles and have only fixed certain models. The fact that a cracked shorting wire in the power door or a loose connector could cause all this is to go wrong is just poor engineering. The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town and country. While driving approximately 40 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to be restarted and resumed normal operation. The failure occurred three times. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14V373000 (electrical system); however, the part needed for the repair was unavailable. In addition, the front driver seat would not remain in a secure position and constantly moved while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

November 9, 2011 had to replace rear brakes for the 2nd time in less than 2 years in ownership of vehicle. Tire sensor failed and tire deployed. April 4, 2013 additional tire sensors blow out or failed without any prior notification had to replace 3 tire sensors. Brakes also had to be replaced within a 15 month period. Less than 20,000 miles. There is clearly something wrong with the products/material used to construct this vehicle. 2013 heating unit appears to overheat my driver seat causing leather on seat to began to crack. Chrysler motors was place on written notice of these problems as early as January 18,2012 but failed to respond or do anything to address my concerns.

2009 Chrysler Town and country van. Top model. While driving at highway speeds the rear seat (with kids strapped into seat belts) will start to fold, pinning the child. (there is nothing even remotely close to the buttons that control the seats position. Seat also acts abnormal once you stop the van and press the buttons to put it back into correct position.) this is the fourth time this has occurred since we bought the van in early 2009.
