Van would get stuck trying to turn over. It sounded similar to the clicking a vehicle makes when the battery is dead, but much faster. After trying to start several times, the van would start, but the smell of gasoline would enter the cab of the vehicle for a few minutes. It would also sometimes start and then die as if it were a manual and I had let off of the clutch while in gear.

There is a problem with the fuel pump relay and Chrysler won't issue a recall

First symptom of a problem was the "hood ajar" warning comes across the drivers info center screen. It comes on and goes off at will. My hood is fine. Then I noticed it was on even when the car is turned off. Then my battery starts to fail, repeatedly. I went through 3 new batteries in 9 months.. And lastly, my neighbor notices my right tail light going on and off, slowly, kind of dim. On and off.

My car doesn't have that many miles on it and it just won't start! When you turn the key, you can hear something trying to engage, like a hum.The battery is fine so we suspect it is the tipm. But we do not have the money to get it fixed so it sits in our garage and we are out a very necessary car. Ugh.

I got into my car to head to the shop for an oil change..... I put the key in the ignition and turned it.... NOTHING! It clicked, and then EVERYTHING shut off (instrument lights, radio, sound, automatic doors, etc!) I attempted to turn the key and get a response several times, but much to my chagrin - NOTHING! (I somehow managed to refrain from spewing the vast array of profanities that came to mind, as my 7-year-old was anxiously awaiting our take-off and I didn't want to subject him to my "colorful" vocabulary.)
I popped the hood to see if I could see anything, (maybe the battery wasn't connected??) but NOTHING. I then shut it, got back in the van and turned the key, only to have it start, as if nothing was ever wrong. What in the WORLD was THAT all about?!
I made it to my oil change appointment and mentioned it to the sservice writer. He had the technician check my battery - it was FINE, (no surprise.) WHAT is it with this crappy vehicle?! There is OBVIOUSLY something wrong with the electrical system in these vans. ATTN: Chrysler - FIX IT!!!!!
Pro: My son was highly impressed by my (apparently new) ability to "Fix" the van!
Con: Add this to the other LIST of things that SUCK about the 2009 Chrysler Town and Country!!!!
I will N-E-V-E-R buy another Chrysler product again!

Not impressed to be replacing the starter at 105,000 kms. Absolutely no reason for a starter seizing and this kms. Also the price tag for this replacement is crazy. Not only did I have to replace the starter, I had to have it towed to the dealership at almost 100 dollars because it would not start. When I tried to start the engine there was smoke coming from the bottom of the engine. I also knew that something had happened to the starter as it did not even click to start.

My wife and I have had multiple issues with the vehicle not starting when it is cold and raining. We don't live in a very cold environment but it is cold enough to bother the vehicle. It will turn over and act like a starter has gone bad but will not even try to crank. After a few key cycles, prayers, and gripes it will usually start right up. Sometimes you have to turn it on and off and remove the key. Very intermittent but definitely annoying. I have see other people complain about this on Chrysler boards and the consensus is the (TIPM) Totally Integrated Power Module. (the black box with all of your fuses in it)
