REPLACED THE ROTARS ON MY VAN EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS, THANK-FULLY THEY'RE UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, LABOR IS NOT COVERED. THIS VAN IS KNOWN FOR EATING UP ROTORS AND IS COSTING ME A FORTUNE IN REPAIRS. THIS IS THE WORST VAN I HAVE EVER OWNED FOR NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. BUYER BEWARE!

I have had my 2010 Town&Country to a Chrysler dealer four times since May 2016. Each time with brake problems. I brought the mini van used in April 2015 but did not start having problems until May 2016. This is now March 2017, the 4th time the dealer has had the vehicle. The service dept is giving me unclear answers as to what they are doing to fix the problem. Other than they will call me when they have the problem fixed. Pretty annoying to say the least. After looking on line, looks like there may not be a solution to my problem and they are not telling me about braking problems with Chrysler Mini Vans. We will pursue this issue.

The brake problems on my 2010 Chrysler Town and Country began in 2014. I had the brakes repaired only to have the same issue occur in 2015 and now again in 2016. I understand the design of this brake system is at fault which should be handled by the manufacturer. I am not talking about a low end junker, this is a $35,000 car, the top of the Chrysler mini-van line, it is ridiculous that this problem has not be properly address by Chrysler. As someone that has purchased only Chrysler products, the last 4 of which have been Town & Country limited models I am very disappointed in the quality and customer service on this item. I am rethinking my entire car buying approach based on this, on-going problem.

This is the 4th set of rotors I will be putting on my 5 year old van (now 105k miles). The first set was after two years and admittedly 28k miles and I lived at the top of a mountain and did a lot of uphill and downhill breaking and did not consider it "too early" for my rotors and brakes to wear out, however the second time was within months (34k miles) and one of the front rotors started shaking and the caliper broke off (the manufacturer blamed my mechanic and my driving, both were BS!) and ground a gouge into my rotor. I have since moved to nearly flat ground and still have had to replace them once since (2014-80K miles) and now they are shaking AGAIN. I only purchase ceramic pads and those are still in excellent condition (replaced with the first and second rotor change, but not the 3rd), only normal wear. How is it even possible to wear out a rotor and not the pad?

When I heard metal scrapping metal in the rear of my car I got concerned. I just had my brakes looked at in March and had the brake pads in the front replaced for the 4th time! The calipers froze. So I had to replace the rear calipers, pads and rotors. They also, as a measure of good faith, replaced my pads on the front of the car for the 4th time!!! This is crazy.

This was the 2nd time I had the front brake pads replaced. All I get from the repair people is "yup that is a minivan for you". Unacceptable. I was also told I don't know how to brake and I am wearing them down on my own. Seriously?

I can't afford to have rotors turned when I have to make a car payment. Mechanic told me all of these vans have premature brake issues and if it is fixes will just need to do it again in a few months.

BRAKES STARTED PULSATING WHEN BRAKING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS RESULTED IN STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED REPLACING. THEY MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. I GUESS THEY DID NOT TAKE THE WEIGHT INTO ACCOUNT WHEN DESIGNING THE BRAKES. WENT THROUGH THE FORUMS AND REALIZED THAT THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE ROTORS WITH AFTERMARKET CENTRIC POWERSLOT CRYO ROTORS. THIS RESOLVED ALL MY BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUES. THIS HOWEVER WILL NOT RESOLVE THE FREQUENT REPLACEMENT OF BRAKE PADS. IT WILL JUST MAKE YOUR RIDE SAFER TO USE.

I first had to do a complete brake & rotor replacement at 17,000 miles. I have continued to have to replace brake pads, (even tried ceramic pads) rotors ever since. I now have 110,000 miles and have replaced the breaks SIX times in five years. Yes I drive about 25,000 per years but still. I have also replaced the rotors four times and had them resurfaced twice. Really Chrysler?! this is not normal. But the dealer and/or Chrysler won't do anything to help. Not to mention other repairs on the vehicle.....I will never by a Chrysler again. Can't wait to get this thing paid for and move on!

I had to replace my rear brakes: rear rotors, spring brake shoe hold down and pad rear disc break at around 32000 miles. I searched the internet and found numerous sites with a lot of complaints about the Town and Countries rear brake rotors etc... going as far back as 2003. Many T&C van owners had to replace the rear brakes rotors etc... two and three times before the van hit 50000 miles. Some had to replace the rear brakes rotors, etc... twice before their van dinged 30000 miles. I received a letter from Chrysler saying that they are extending the warranty on the front brakes rotors etc.. but that extension did not include the rear brake rotors etc... (I wonder why, lots of laughs).
CALL YOUR STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE REAR BRAKE ROTOR FAILURE ETC.. OR ANY OTHER PROBLEMS YOU HAVE. THEY REPORT IT TO THE STATES DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION WHO INVESTIGATES IT AND THEY SEND AN INQUIRY TO CHRYSLER THAT CHRYSLER HAS TO RESPOND TO THEM.

My 2010 Town & Country Van is now going on 4 yrs old and at about 78,000 miles I had the brakes (rotors, calipers, etc) replaced for a 5th time!!! This is unacceptable! The constant grinding, squealing, etc every time I get the parts replaced by a qualified repair garage within 8,000-10,000 miles... They advised me to start looking on the web and start complaining. I am hoping to find a CLASS ACTION suit already started. I am a retired GM Engineer and have always purchased GM Products for 30+ years and have NEVER had this kind of problem with GM Products. My 1st Chrysler purchased and it has been VERY EXPENSIVE!!! I think I have spent close to $1500 - $2000 during my ownership of this vehicle on BRAKES AND BRAKE JOBS!!! HELP from anyone out there who can direct me to a Chrysler Agent who cares or a class action suit in progress! I love my T&C but this will keep me from buying another one! I have 3 grandchildren I tote around so I NEED a van.

In April 2010 I bought my 2010 Limited (fully loaded) T & C Chrysler. It has been trouble since the day I bought it. I've had the brakes replaced 3 times. This is not acceptable and I feel it's downright dangerous. To this day the brakes squeal and grind. After the first repair, black stuff (findings) came off the brakes and onto the wheel, hub cap, tire, whee well and car. I've had the rotors, capilars, pads and whatever else replaced. I can't get the dealer to say there is anything wrong with my brakes. I'm really disappointed in the way the quality of this Chrysler. I thought I was buying a fully loaded luxury vehicle to take my Grandchildren on vacation. Instead, I've had to rent a vehicle to safely take them anywhere.

To fix problem without changing rotors every time you change the oil change and both sets of brakes. It saves the money on mechanic and rotors. Its a pain but it works for me. I bought the van and two days later I had to have the brakes replaced.

Since day 1 the purchase of the vehicle in question, we have had problems, Chrysler sold us a LEMON, still dealing with premature wear on front, rear rotors and pads.
- caseyniam3, Wantagh, NY, US
At 14K miles brakes already stated acting up and they replaced the front rotors. We had to pay $50 for this. At 27K miles front rotors needed replacing again, they asked $100 for it. Was able to get them to do it for free. But then they said the brake pads also need replacing. $100 for front and $240 for the back. Chrysler gave a extended warranty discount for the front so it was 'only' $100. They wont provide warranty for the back brakes.
Never had a car that had such poor braking system or horrible support from the manufacture.
They should replace and fix front and back brake pads and rotors and put in items that will last like any other car does.

Now my van has a loud squealing sound coming from the left rear rotor. We pulled over last night and our rotor was glowing. My dad is a mechanic so I called him. He said more than likely it is the caliper that is bad. I am so disappointed with this purchase. We bought this van brand new and this is the 3rd issue we have had with the rotors. I will not spend my money on this company ever again.
- paysensmom, Brandywine, WV, US
The brake pads were replaced three times and the rotors once. Before anyone realized it was the calipers. The calipers still work but not the way they were intended causing the premature wear. Chrysler is aware that these are a problem they issued a service bulletin but pads and rotors aren't covered under warranty. The calipers would be under some warranties if they realize the problem before it runs out. So very expensive to me as the consumer, but not costly to Chrysler.

Same problem as everyone else. Bought the van 3 weeks ago, packed up the stuff and kids to go on holidays and as we're leaving the city the brakes start squealing (when I release the brake). Got out, the rim is HOT and there's brake dust everywhere.
Took it back to the dealer .... $500 later rear rotors and pads replaced. Dealer say warranty doesn't cover it. Says he sees 30-40 of these per week and shrugs his shoulders and tells me he knows what I'm going through because he had a Dodge van! Gee thanks! Why not tell that to Chrysler.
Would love to know if there's a solution to this problem other than replacing brakes every year.
- scottalberta, Calgary, Alberta, canada
Brakes wear out every 15k-20k. Brake system is way too small for this vehicle, causing premature wear. Only solutions are to replace rotors/pads 1-2x a year, or pay for total brake system overhaul. Chrysler is aware and unrepentant of the problem.
