On 4/9/12 I was involved in a serious accident that resulted in my daughter obtaining a severe traumatic brain. She was in critical condition and is now severely disabled. The back curtain airbags did not protect her and did not appear to work properly. I believe that the vehicle was not properly examined after the accident. The car was a rental vehicle and my family was out of state on vacation. Due to the severe injury of my daughter I believe that the airbags failed.

Tipm failure, dealership wants to charge me over $1000 to repair. Van started acting up in the electrical department. Windows rolling down, key fob not working, cruise control going out, wipers acting up, heated seats not working, ac and heat weakening, intermittent issue to start the van, then stopped running all together, now won't even turn over. Then I took it to dealership after having battery and alternator tested (all good) and had to bring it home cause they wouldn't take a payment plan. I looked on youtube for possible issues and fixes and checked my wiring to my tipm and found one harness tampered with. Tape cut and wires cut as well didn't look lik that when I took it in. I'm upset because I can't afford to replace something this expensive and common known issue. Why is there no recall on this model but other models running this same tipm? this is a cheap way for Chrysler to get more money out of us. Make this a recall, I can only imagine what could've happened if it would've stalled with my 3 kids in the car on a highway!!! get us a recall on this issue!!!!!

Car will turn over but not start. Had it towed to a dealer while away from home on a family road trip. After several hours of waiting the dealer said the problem was a fault with the tipm and that it would need to be replaced at a cost of over $1100 dollars. I have no other alternative, but what an expensive repair.

Report on behalf of customer vehicle. Customer was involved in a collision to the rear of her 2011 Town and country. Moderate speed collision, damage to bumper and rear body panel. The vehicle is equipped with active restraint headrest system designed to deploy forward and upward to prevent injury due to occupant head moving backwards in rear collision. Active restraint system failed to deploy in the collision; however, approximately ten days later while operating the vehicle during normal conditions, the headrests deployed, striking the driver in the back of the head. Driver did not lose control of the vehicle.

This minivan is equipped with a factory installed, electric 3rd row seat. It is a split (2/3 -1/3) configuration. The switches to control these seats are on the left rear panel just inside the door jam. The options are: Stow, normal or rear facing. You can control one or both seats for each option by use of the rocker switch position. Both seats were in the normal (upright) position and luggage was stored behind the seat. A child seat was sitting on the left side of the rear seat. When rounding a turn, a piece of luggage fell into the switch panel and the seat started to stow, it was compressing the child seat. I was shocked that it didn't stop or reverse itself as a friction clutch would. I.e like one of the 3 electric doors on this vehicle would. Instead the motors kept turning and skipping on their gears (machine gun sound). Trying to shut off the switches had no effect. This is a crushing hazard.
