We have owned our van for 3 weeks. It has been in the shop once already and I have another call into the dealership. Starting 07/2015 the van would not start easily, three times once I had it started and was physically driving it shut down. We had it brought in for service and they fixed the air filter. When it was returned it ran okay for two days and then the problems began again. Today I drove the van to and from the grocery store. I went to put the van in my garage and it will not start at all. The engine tries but never starts. The lights come on, windows go up and down and the doors can lock. It just wont start.

We purchased this 2011 Chrysler Town and country as a new vehicle in Jan.of 2012. Since the purchase there have been 5 incidents where the van has lost all electrical power making clicking noises, and leaving us stranded. The final incident happened on Dec. 26,2014 while traveling in the mountains of North Carolina. It was 10:30 pm, no street lights and nothing but steep terrain on the sides. The vehicle completely shut down and was making the clicking noises.the power steering was lost, headlights off and all other electrical functions were unavailable. Once in complete darkness we noticed we had shifted into the oncoming lane of traffic. We noticed headlights coming at us in the distance, luckily quick thinking and use of a flashlight we were able to warn the oncoming vehicle of our position in their lane. They stopped in front of our vehicle and turned on their hazards to provide warning for other vehicles. Being that we were in imminent danger, I had to disconnect the battery and let the system reset. After taking it to the dealership they once again said they could not find a problem. The dealership only stated, " have it towed in when it happens". being that the last 2 times this happened we were left stranded in traffic, during late hours with absolutely no electrical power and my children in the car, it was impossible to wait to be towed in. They were unsafe situations that potentially had fatal results. I had to make the best decision at the time to protect my family. I am beyond frustrated with Chrysler for allowing me to leave the shop every time with no solution to the problem. My kids are afraid to get in van for fear of breaking down yet again. Five incidents with no resolution, no one knows how to fix the problem! a recurrent problem that can happen at any point- while on a highway or getting through a busy intersection.

We had trouble starting car, wife was out in town and car would not start. Jumped off and started. Had battery replaced after talking to cry service. Car kept not starting with multiple fobs. Problem reoccur ed and dealer checked out car, nothing found - intermittent problem. Problem recurring, had battery changed again on warranty. Problem keeps recurring, changed batteries in key fobs, still having problem, dealer worked with us over phone tonight and got car started in neutral then ran fine. Bringing car into dealership again tomorrow to be diagnosed again but this is still happening. From reading the various forums and compliant.com it sounds like a tip problem.

Car will not start normally either first thing in the morning or during day. Will take 5 to 10 minutes of attempting to get car started. Battery will die for no apparent reasons if left un-driven for a few hours or days. Car is currently at Chrysler service center for now 4 weeks with no solution on hand. They claim it is caused by a electrical draw and need to work on every relay and system to identify its source. I contacted Chrysler corporate for additional information on how to resolve, no response yet; it has been over a week. I have suggest that problem can be related the broader tipm issue affecting many Chrysler/Jeep vehicle. Service adviser had no interest and stated they must check every system as stated by manufacturer.

Vehicle parked in homeowner's driveway erupted in flames at approximately $12.45 am on September 3rd. Vehicle was shut off for over four(4) hours. Engine was relatively cool as it was only driven for five minutes prior to 8 pm on the 2nd of September. Neighbor who called the fire department reported seeing sparks emanating from under the hood before it burst into flames which destroyed the car. This also damaged the other vehicle parked ahead of the Town and country.

After about 4 months of purchasing the vehicle, I had issues with the brakes, system had being replaced already 4 times (in less than 2 years), I had pay out of pocket for the work, still having issues. There is a noisy from the engine every time you change either from parking to drive or drive to reverse. Had it checked already 3 times. My power window and lock control is always having issues and get's pretty warm. Summarizing my experience with this vehicle it had being a complete nightmare, I don't feel safe driving the vehicle and had spend more money out of pocket than my previous mini-vans. Another issue is that sometimes the side doors open by themselves, without us even touching the controls, or they open half way and we must place in park the van, turn it off and start it again in order to close the side doors.

I had to have the cylinder head replaces on my T & C pentastar 3.6 V-6 engine. In researching this I see that it is a limited number of cars but the T&C is not mentioned. I am reporting this because perhaps it is a much larger number of engines and there has been no recall. For individuals who have the issue and end up out of warranty will the dealer still honor the warranty.

-vehicle operated normally, however rough idle at low speeds was noticed in June 2013. -check engine light came on shortly after, however would go out after a couple of driving cycles. -on July 14, 2013 while driving on the highway, the engine suddenly lost power and speed was reduced. -check engine light illuminated and has stayed on ever since. -took the vehicle to the local Chrysler dealership for diagnostics. Cylinder misfire code was the reason for the check engine light. -it has been diagnosed that the cylinder head needs to be replaced due to manufacturer's defect. -dealership and Chrysler have admitted that this is a known issue and a more robust cylinder head has been engineered to replace the faulty ones. -Chrysler has however refused to cover the replacement under the 5yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
