While driving down the road 2 times this week - my vans electrical system completely turned off for about 2-5 seconds and turned back on. This includes: Tvs, driver dash, radio dash all interior lightening -both times happened during the day I am not sure about outside lights (I assume). The first time the van stalled completely losing power steering and had to restart engine. The 2nd time I could still gas the van with power steering before all electrical restarted itself. Both times I was driving on a busy road going straight (mph 30-45pmh).

My complaint is the tipm module just like many Dodge and Chrysler. And Chrysler thinks they can pick and choose who they reward an recall too. This is a faulty part on all Chrysler for several years and they know it! but when I get done with this class action law suit I am about to start I hope all paying Chrysler and Dodge customer get money they deserve!

The car has a defective totally integrated power module (tipm). This module has caused the van not to start and the engine has stalled during driving. The module has a fuel pump relay on a ckt board that is defective. The relay also stuck closed and heated up the battery and drained it. The only way to start the vehicle, is to cycle the key multiple times until you here the fuel pump running. The vehicle has been to the dealer many times for the no start problem. This vehicle is an accident waiting to happen, with the engine stalling and the fuel pump shorting the battery. Also another defect is the power sliding doors, the wiring will burn and break. This causes the doors to become stuck open and will not close. When you are on the road with the doors stuck open, this is not safe. The doors need the wiring replaced with a heavy duty wire.

Bought the van in 2011 and since then, the vehicle began to having problems starting in 2014. I pressed the start button, but the engine would not turn over. After several hundred tries, it would start. This happened 20 times since then and the dealer does not know why. Today, 4 Oct 16, the vehicle will not start at all. I'm a deployed service member and my wife and three children use this van. The faulty ignition system will leave my family stranded. I researched this and there is a recall for other models with the same tipm system, however, there is not one for the Town and country. There are hundreds of owners experiencing the same problem. Please have Chrysler admit there is a faulty tipm and that this needs to be recalled.

I believe my issues started when my battery was dead after being shut off upon my arrival to work, within 3 1/2 hours. Battery was charged and started and made it home. 3 days later, without any notification of an issue through the onboard computer notification system, vehicle would not start. Tries to turn over, and did start after a lot of different efforts about 7-8 times(by fully depressing gas pedal when it would turn over to start and maintain rpms 3-4000 for a minimum of 5-10 seconds) and now will not start at all. After last attempts to start, and vehicle not running, you can still hear the fuel pump operating and smell of gasoline. Battery drain was noticed with 24 hours, and dead with in 2 days. When vehicle had started and able to drive a short distance, it would shut off while driving, or shut off upon stopping for a sign or red light. This is dangerous situation, as I am trying to take my 4 year old daughter and teen age son to school when this happened. I have been without a vehicle for over a month now, as this started 8/18/2016. Have lost work time and put my job in jeopardy, as I am in sales and need my transportation. I do not have the time to be running back and forth to dealers to only find out they know nothing to fix this recurring problem with their Chrysler vehicles, nor the thousands of dollars to spend on them trying to "guess" at what the issue is. Vehicles should be fixed if Chrysler actually knows what will fix it, or buyout the vehicle plus 5+% so people can replace this awful vehicle. In the meantime, GM financial still expects monthly payment on a vehicle that is worthless.

Vehicles was parked in driveway went to start vehicle and it will not start, vehicle will turn over and act like it, is not getting fuel. If vehicle sits for some time eventually it will start 3-4 times and then issue will occur again. Vehicle started with no problem the previous day, problem occurred without any warning, no check engine light displayed on dash. When vehicle is off fuel pump can be heard still running with ignition off and battery has to be disconnected in order to stop fuel pump from running and not drain battery. Battery is brand new, fuses have been checked and are in good condition. In researching online I have found others to have the same issue but have not seen any recall. Was able to fiind possible temporary fix by using a fuel pump relay bypass but have not tried this option.. I have called and spoken to be Chrysler service department and have been told that it here is no recall and all I can do is have car towed to them and let them check it out. I would think with recall they have done on Jeep and Dodge protects there would be something they can tell. Same issue has occurred with the Dodge Caravan which is basically the Chrysler town N country. Please help!!!!!!!!!

Oil filter housing has pressure relief valve along plastic shaft that guides up through oil filter. This valve or shaft can break off causing catastrophic engine failure. Pressure relief valve can cause the engine to remain in the bypass start up phase. Not only that, but upon servicing said vehicle this shaft can break off or the valve can pop out of socket, leaving said vehicle immobilized. This issue can be found in any 3.6 liter Chrysler engine built between model years 2011-2013. Many oil filter suppliers have sent out bulletins on said issue. It is a liability on any technician that services said vehicle.

Experiencing intermittent electrical problems. The van will crank fine one time and not just a few minutes later. It acts like the battery is dead but it's a brand new battery replaced by the dealer. It has been doing this off and on. The symptoms are a perfect fit for the tipm issues that other Chrysler vehicles have experienced and have been recalled for. It has plenty of voltage and amperage to crank, it just won't. also when it does crank it will stall out, although, not every time. Sometimes it will crank normally and others you need to press the accelerator pedal. This also appears to fit the tipm symptoms exactly. The van has worked perfectly until this issue. This is a design defect that Chrysler should pay to correct in all affected vehicles. The most recent occurrence was the evening of 6/26/16. I drove the vehicle approximately 4 hours earlier and it cranked and operated normally, however, this time it would not crank. The interior lights and A/C fan all appear to operate normally, however, when I tried to crank the van all of the lights flickered but the van does not crank. I do not receive a low batter warning either, because the batter is brand new, replaced by the dealer at the beginning of June 2016. I attempted several more times but the van never did crank. That is why I am here. I am fed up with having to drive a van with an obvious design flaw. I am seeking resolution in the form of the the dealer correcting the defect at the their own cost.

Was leaving work when my check engine light came one, along with the traction control light and the brakes got hard. Car stopped, turned it off to turn it back on, and it would not start. All lights, radio, etc came on, but engine would not turn over or engage. Do not think fuel pump was engaging either. Tried numerous things, including the tipm bypass and it still will not start. 90% plus of my driving is highway. I got very lucky that this system failure happened when it did, as a few minutes later and I would have been on a very busy highway, as well as if it had happened on my way to work.

While driving my vehicle on the highway at an estimated speed of 60 mph, for no reason at all, various warning/indicator lights started to flash (not all in unison) and the odometer speed indicator (digital numbers) went up & down as the car seemed to be stalling/missing. For a second it seemed to right itself then the engine completely shut down losing all power - electrical (all), power steering, power brakes, etc. And we were forced to coast to a stop in the breakdown lane. After waiting a few minutes I was able to start the car and it seemed that every thing was normal for the last 10 miles or so of my drive.this is the second time it has happened in the past 2-3 years which is a long period but alarming because both times were while driving on the highway. When it does happen you can't safely control the car once it shuts down - limited control at best. After the first time, I took it to the Chrysler dealer in kent oh (klaben) who services my vehicle because of the warranty and I trust them. They had a service technician and a manager both drive the van over the course of a few days (including highway travel) and couldn't duplicate the failure. Diagnosis was a possible computer glitch and since that diagnosis it hasn't happened again until tonight 2/10/16. It may be the computer but I will drive it tomorrow and see if it runs ok. If it does I probably won't take it back in (unless someone knows something) but I wanted to share the issue in the event anyone else has experienced the same problem. A computer glitch (if it is) is not like a reboot on the home computer.this failure both times has happened in light traffic. My fear is that in heavy traffic trying to pull over safely without any power and lights could lead to a major incident/accident. I should have my record of the (no) repair from klaben and they should also have in their data base.

I own a 2011 Chrysler Town and country with 97, 000 miles, mostly highway. I take good care of my van but lately have had several issues. The vehicle will randomly not start. I can place the car in neutral sometimes and it will start other times it will not. I have had it towed 2X to the dealership where they state there are no codes and it starts. It has cost me over $1000 in tow, service and garage fees. The vehicle is in the stop position when it will not start.

As we were driving at about 30 mph the van started to accelerate on its own. It revved up to 70 mph then to 50 then to 20 then back up to 70. We couldn't control the speed with gas pedal or the brake pedal. We were just gliding. I told my wife to put it into nuetral and tap on brake pedal till we finally slowed down. We then turned van off and let it sit. We then called are mechanics as we just had a transmission flush done. Of course they found nothing wrong with it because it wasn't doing it for them. We trust our mechanics as we have been using them for years now on all our vehicles and have never had a problem until this van. The next day we are sitting at a light and the van is jumping like it wants to go and a loud clunk noise happens like its shifting gears. Then the following morning my wife is getting in van to take kids to school and turns on van and it turns itself off. Our mechanics had this van for 2 days and have drove it with there computers hooked up to it and no red flags. The main mechanic says it's probably the computer. After further research on this van I now have found this is a very common problem with this make, model, year. Yet nothing has been done to resolve it. This is a major safety issue that apparently Chrysler is aware of but would rather make $1200 off consumers then fix on there own. Clearly my safety and my families safety isn't a concern for them. We drive almost an hour on the highway every other week. Now I have to be worried this van won't drive my family into another vehicle because its taking over and we have no way of stopping it.

-Jan 2015- the key was lodged in the ignition and would not come out. I had it towed to nearest chry dealer to fix. - Jan to may- car intermittently stalls/won't start. Sometimes starts with a jump. -may- mechanic/battery installed $268. -June/July- car intermittently stalls/won't start. Starts if you wait a while. -August-won't start/wont jump/stranded with kids/towed to mechanic. -changed my batteries in my key fobs at least 3 times in 2015. -I am constantly stranded with my children and spend days without my car waiting for mechanics to find out the problem. The Chrysler dealer informs me that it's a minimum of $200 just to look at it. It will most likely be more if it's electrical and they need a day or two. I have to get my kids to and from school and can't pay for another car. Mechanic said to look at bulletins/info on tipm and win. Other chry year/makes have had exact same issues and were recalled. There is a class action suit for this year/make and many more. How am I still driving? I was given a tip by a mechanic: Open the hood and then the fuse box. Remove the M27 fuse. Wait 10 seconds. Replace fuse. Start car. It's been working so far! apparently, this clears a software lockup in the module.
