The van has a problem accelerating and also seems to stall while driving on the expressway before jumping quickly into acceleration there was a bad storm in Buffalo that I believe contributed to the problems of the Chrysler van

My tipm is failing slowly. My starter is pulling way to many amps when starting. I've changed it twice. My fuel relay has failed. A lot of the times when I start my car I have an icon for my ABS sensor come on and the only way to get it off is to pull over and restart my car. When the light is on on my dash. My car won't drive over 60mph and my rpms will run high and when you let off the gas while it's doing this it will take you almost to a stop within seconds. My check engine light never goes off. And no matter how many times it gets tested and reset it comes back within hours. So my auto start never works. Sometimes when I start my car I can't get my seatbelt alarm to stop singing so I have to pull over and restart. It all leads back to this tipm (electronics board below the fuse box). I've had it priced at 1300$ to fix it. But turns out it's the most common issue with this year of this van. Please help!

The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and country. On several occasions, while driving, the vehicle independently accelerated from 30 mph to approximately 65 mph without warning. Additionally, while the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, the rpms revved independently. The vehicle was taken to tubbs brothers Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (located at 959 sanilac rd, sandusky, mi 48471, (810) 648-0000) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000.
- Imlay City, MI, USA
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and country. The contact received a recall letter in 2012 and the vehicle was repaired. The NHTSA campaign number was unknown. After the repair, the contact attempted to start the vehicle, but the ignition would not turn over. After a few moments, the vehicle was able to be restarted. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle slowed down and the rpms went to zero. Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated independently and then decelerated without depressing the brake pedal. The check engine indicator illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to sears auto center where it was diagnosed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to a Chrysler dealer. It was unknown if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 79,949.

Tipm, I have had tons of problems with my van since I purchased. There is no telling how much I have spent of the years on repairs. Come to find out most of my repairs were not necessary. They all came from the faulty tipm. I can't believe this has not been recalled. The issue it causes is unbelievable. The stress and inconvenience this has caused me and my family is more than I could ever imagine. I'm out thousands of dollars on repair bills and now I find out that it will be another $1,300 to fix this. I have been having issues for years!!! when I would take it in they would treat the symptoms not the problem which I'm just finding out is the tipm. If this would have been properly diagnosed while under warranty than no big deal, but of course it was not. I have been driving and all of a sudden by brakes don't work, I turn on the van start to drive and it won't shift I have to pull over and turn off the van then restart it. Sometimes it wont start just sits there like it wants to start. The fuel pump is now constantly running. I'm sure that's not safe at all. The engine hours are twice what the mileage says it should be. Hum guess that's cause my engine is running all the time. That would be because the tipm is flawed.

I have a 2011 Chrysler Town and country. As of today I have had the vehicle under 3 years and have had to replace the alternator 3 times, 3 new batteries, the master cylinder and break booster was replaced, multiple sensors, my ABS and traction control never functions correctly. This is all because of the tipm that is malfunctioning and you cant get one of these because they are back ordered. And when you call the dealer ship or Chrysler they tell you there is nothing they can do.

I have a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country van with adjustable pedals. Per the manual 'the pedals cannot be adjusted when the vehicle is in reverse or when the electronic speed control system (escs) is on'' implying some type of interaction between the two systems. From time to time the escs will not come on or will stop responding to inputs, including not disengaging the escs when the cancel button is pushed (though it will disengage by depressing the brake pedal). However, if I toggle the adjustable pedal switch (in any direction) the escs immediately becomes responsive again. There seems to be some type of interaction between the adjustable pedal switch and the escs causing this problem. I've been to the dealer with no assistance. Due to the escs intermittently not disengaging via the cancel button this can be a serious safety issue.

As we were driving at about 30 mph the van started to accelerate on its own. It revved up to 70 mph then to 50 then to 20 then back up to 70. We couldn't control the speed with gas pedal or the brake pedal. We were just gliding. I told my wife to put it into nuetral and tap on brake pedal till we finally slowed down. We then turned van off and let it sit. We then called are mechanics as we just had a transmission flush done. Of course they found nothing wrong with it because it wasn't doing it for them. We trust our mechanics as we have been using them for years now on all our vehicles and have never had a problem until this van. The next day we are sitting at a light and the van is jumping like it wants to go and a loud clunk noise happens like its shifting gears. Then the following morning my wife is getting in van to take kids to school and turns on van and it turns itself off. Our mechanics had this van for 2 days and have drove it with there computers hooked up to it and no red flags. The main mechanic says it's probably the computer. After further research on this van I now have found this is a very common problem with this make, model, year. Yet nothing has been done to resolve it. This is a major safety issue that apparently Chrysler is aware of but would rather make $1200 off consumers then fix on there own. Clearly my safety and my families safety isn't a concern for them. We drive almost an hour on the highway every other week. Now I have to be worried this van won't drive my family into another vehicle because its taking over and we have no way of stopping it.
