I have had several vehicles both new and used. Never have I seen this problem where the whole vehicle vibrates when braking. The problem is not that significant at low speeds on local roads but at freeway speeds the vibration is so significant that one feels they will loose control or the vehicle may not stop in proper time and distance. It appears that Chrysler is aware of this based on their technical bulletin but have not issued a recall as they can make money at the dealership by charging the customer for a very costly fix that they too well know that is a basic design and manufacture issue.

The date of first occurrence is estimated. This all started when we needed to replace the original Kuhmo tires. We purchased Uniroyals. The van vibrated almost constantly as if the tires were out of balance. The tire shop rebalanced these new tires, but the vibration remained. They replaced these four with another set of Uniroyals but the van still vibrated just as badly. The tire shop spent at least an hour rebalancing the 2nd set of tires, to no avail.
We replaced these four new Uniroyals with Michelins - still had the vibration, but not as bad. Forward to April 2016 - time to replace the tires (we put a lot of miles, almost 100,000 miles in 4 years) on our van. I chose Discount Tire to put new Goodyears on the van. Strong vibration was back. Two days later, I took the van back to have the tires re-balanced. No difference.
A few days later, I went back and their manager and I went for a drive - he thought the front tires might be bad so they replaced both of them. Back for a test drive - no difference. He had the rear tires replaced. Still no difference. To their credit, Discount Tire has been absolutely fantastic trying to solve this problem.
After 5 sets of tires and 3 different brands, there is no way the vibration can be from the tires. Additionally, about 1 1/2 years ago because of normal wear, we replaced the brakes (front pads and rotors, rear pads and rotors) but there was no difference in the vibration. Is there something else that would be causing this.
