One day my battery was dead for no reason I know. I jump started it and it ran ok. The next time it would barely run, it was so rough. It seemed to be lacking fuel so I replaced the fuel pump. The only code was for a random misfire. I replaced the camshaft sensors, crank sensor, map sensor and intake temp sensor and had no improvement.

The wipers suddenly came on and stopped in the top position.

My key fobs suddenly quit working for anything.

This is all in addition to having the transmission randomly fail in the middle of the night in the middle of Montana on the way to a funeral before these other issues started.

We purchased this vehicle new. It has mainly only been used for trips hence there are only 21,381 miles on it. This problem began on a trip in July, Florida to NY. Normal starting was to just push and release the start button and it would start right up. One day in NY it required me to hold it in. Then it failed to start while in a rest area on the interstate. Got very scared at that point it was night time. A third subsequent attempt and we were on our way. I would not shut it down until we arrived at the hotel. Next morning no start. Second attempt and we were rolling again. When we arrive home and I called for service appointment. When I went to take the vehicle to Chrysler dealer it would not start until the third attempt. Also while on the interstate, with cruise on, ECO off, I noticed several times when I would gently advance the throttle the car would not respond unless I pushed considerable far on the pedal. The dealer has it, today is day two. I am waiting for a call.

Update from Aug 26, 2016: I got the vehicle back today. The dealer's remedy: Test system to find DTC U1197 security seed response no received from ECM/PCM. Flashed PCM with update for this cause 68185470AC-AD 18-19-06-GN There was no charge, however I did have some other scheduled and preventative maintenance accomplished. I have faith in my dealership, Firkins Chrysler of Bradenton FL. they have a good reputation. Time will tell if it is fixed.

Update from Mar 30, 2017: March 29. 2017 23388 miles. Only 2007 miles since the no start problem and today it is back. I push the button to start, foot on brake, and nothing, everything works radio and all. I removed the push button and used the fob it starts just fine. Now I have to be inconvenienced and take the piece of crap back to the inept dealership again. Apparently flashing the PCM wasn't the fix.

Update from Apr 16, 2017: I took the van back to Firkins they had it two days and said the malfunction would not present itself. I drove it back home and of course when I attempted to drive to the market it would not start. It has presented itself on multiple occasions since getting back from FIRKINS who are unable to duplicate the condition. Time to call Chrysler.

Update from May 31, 2017: The problem had become more annoying so on may17th I turned the car back over to the dealer and I called Chrysler and was assigned a case worker. After a couple days at the shop the problem presented itself to the technician and set a couple codes. Chryslers engineers sent a fax consisting of STAR reports for this particular problem. The Wireless Ignition Node Module (WIN) was replaced. The win was identified as a Variant 5 known to be problematic. The new updated WIN is a Variant 6. Additionally, they replaced the run start relay and terminal #8 (YL/GY wire) T750 circuit of the Blue 26 way C2 TIPM connector. It was identified by the engineers to be checked for a loose fit and so was replaced. It goes to the starter relay output. The vehicle was returned to me on May 25th and so far, so good. Time will tell.

Update from Nov 2, 2017: I have driven the vehicle for about 3,000 miles with at least 100 engine starts since the WIN was replaced and each and every time the engine started flawlessly.

I bought this car new from a dealer who tried to fleece me in the first place. At about 36,000 miles, I took the car in for a tune-up for which I was charged $800. Shortly after the tune-up, can't remember what month of 2015, the engine would not start. The engine will turn, but will not start. I went back to the dealer and complained. The car was still under warranty - extended - so the dealer fixed it. At less than 45,000 miles, there was a Check-Engine light. The dealer provided me a rental car and fixed the car in three days and stated that some part in the engine was misfiring.

At less than 60,000 miles, the catalytic converter had to be replaced and another part was also misfiring and replaced at the dealer's cost

I took my T&C in about a month ago because my check engine light came on. They fixed the issue and did the 65K maintenance on the vehicle. All was good to go. I mentioned my VES/DVD player wasn't working. They were able to get a replacement and installed it a week later.

I parked my van and didn't try to drive it for two days. Car wouldn't start. Took it back to the dealership and told them: something happened when the DVD player was replaced and it drained the battery.

Dealership ran a $150 battery diagnostic to tell me the battery was dead (no sh*t). Then replaced said battery for $250 (pissed about that - would have gone to Autozone for a new battery). Tried to pick the van up at dealership a week later (was out of town) and it's dead. Again. With a brand new battery. Got it jumped (service department was closed). Died again the next day. Dropped it off on Tuesday. TIMP was bad. Dealership replaced it on Thursday. Picked my car up on Friday and it sat for two days.

Went to go to the store on Sunday and the engine clicked, all the accessories came on (and stayed on, even when I turned it off), but the engine wouldn't turn over. Going to try to jump it today and take it back to the dealership. Also contacting legal office on base (military).

Purchased a used 2012 Chrysler Town and Country about 2 years ago. Around June of last year we were in a parking lot and the car would not start (push button starter). After several tries and waiting for about 30 minutes for no reason the car decided to start. This happened two or three more times over the next several months. We took the car to the best recommended Chrysler dealership in our area.

After 5 days they said they could not duplicate the problem and therefore could not fix the problem. They said the next time it happened (not if it happened) to bring it in right away so the diagnostics could pick up the problem. It happened again and I called and was told the next available appointment would be 4 days away.

Took the car back in and left it for 3 days and again we were told they could not find the problem therefore could not fix the problem I do not understand why Chrysler would want one of their customers to be stranded in a parking lot or on the side of the road because the car would not start. The research we did indicated the problem could be the TIPM but they claimed they checked this module and it was OK so they sent me back on the road with a car that will not start at some point in time in the future.

In August, my car would turn over but not start. I took the car to Chrysler and they could not recreate the problem ---so could not fix it. They said best thing was to leave the car. I left the car with dealership (50 minute drive each way) on the evening of 8/24 and they kept the car until 8/28. The car recreated the situation one time, however, the dealership kept saying they were not getting a computer code and they checked the fuel pump and could not figure out the problem despite calling a supposed Chrysler area specialist. I indicated I had kids and was worried the car would quit working and they said that would be the only way they could figure out the problem. Furthermore, I indicated the car shut off on me while driving. I also asked if they had checked the TIPM kit and the service person indicated that was too cumbersome of a job and they did not check the TIPM. I had Googled my issues and it sounded as though it could be a possibility, but Chrysler dealership disregarded my concerns.

In September, my car would not start and I knew I had to have it towed. I called the dealership and they wanted to charge me over $200 to have the car towed despite the fact they had the car for a week and could not figure out the problem. We opted to take the car to a local mechanic in our small town. They towed the car and although the problem was recreated only once, they called in a specialist to identify the problem. The specialist identified the TIPM was the problem. I was without a car for over a month as the parts were on backorder. The repair cost us over $900 . I have contacted the dealership and Chrysler itself several times to discuss the issue and not one person has returned my call to address the fact that many of their TIPM kits have malfunctioned. The discouraging part of this process is that the mechanic in our local town was not a "Chrysler" mechanic and was able to identify the problem immediately without a computer code. While the Chrysler dealership kept my van for a week and their own specialist could not identify the problem.

Which leads me to wonder if that was a calculated move on the dealership after all the complaints I have been reading. Very questionable behavior from the company and dealership..

I own a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country with a defective TIPM! It took Chrysler 2 days to figure it out and now they are telling me that it's not a common issue. Now I look it upon the Internet and find out there are several lawsuits against Chrysler for defective TIPMs! Chrysler wants me to buy a TIPM for $962.40 + labor & tax, yet , the part only costs $300-400. I can't believe that a company such as Chrysler is so willing to rip off their customers.

I wish there was a way to post this on a national news channel and/or newspapers to let everyone know the shady business this company is running.

Chrysler needs a better training program for their mechanics, this time they are replacing a power control module? This would reduce their warranty costs and have happier customers, a win win.

Very frustrating with having the vehicle towed to the dealer usually at inconvenient times!!! (4 times so far) Especially when it is the same problem reoccurring each time. Also they conveniently never have a loaner car? Very inconvenient!

I traded in a 2003 Caravan that never let me down once for the peace of mind of having a newer more dependable, repair free vehicle. Big mistake as it turns out.

Hard to be a repeat buyer after this.
