The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town and country. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle shut off and the steering wheel locked. The brake pedal became difficult to depress and all the lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had to shift into the park position to restart the vehicle. Also, there was a knocking noise in the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter was burned and the connecting rod failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000.
