Will be recording previous issues, but this started last June. Replaced alternator after battery light came on and car stalled in 100° florida weather, with 2 kids inside. After being stranded an hour, kids totally drenched in sweat and waiting on tow, we were eventually told we needed new alternator. Replaced it. Now, here we are... battery light on last week, but battery and alternator tested ok. Didn't drive for a few days. Light on again. Took it to a different place... battery tested bad. $200 and new battery later, battery light comes on within 10 minutes. Took it to a new shop. Alternator tests bad. Took to a mechanic... he believes TIPM is culprit. Having tested at dealership. We can't afford $1000 on a part that seems to be the culprit in SO many of these Town and Countrys... very irate customer. Will not be purchasing a Chrysler again unless they make this right...

That is insane, I have heard about electrical failure in Chrysler. With only 2500 miles, no car should have alternator failure.
Will never buy that brand again. very unsatisfied. no comparison with Japanese cars.
I bought this van like 3 year back. just missed the warranty and had to pay $1,210 out of pocket.
Super unreliable.

Had purchased the Town and Country just over a year and a half and the alternator went out on the vehicle and unfortunately I had just passed the 36k mile warranty and had to pay out of pocket for the repair. My mechanic was very surprised that it was not working anymore. Had purchased a new battery just a few weeks before thinking that was the issue, wish I had known that it was the alternator could've saved another $250 on the new battery also.

Battery light came on while en route home on a road where there was no help for miles. Car shut off totally on busy road and we were thankfully able to pull off the road before total disaster struck. We waited over an hour in 100° weather, my 2 poor kids and myself, with no AC... no way to cool off. My kids were very very run down by the time the tow truck got there. Car would not turn over. We were told bad alternator. Had it replaced on a 3 1/2 year old vehicle... over $300 spent. *This was the first time, but sadly, not the last... poor kids of mine :(
