Today, we experienced, for the FOURTH time, a complete stall while driving. Accelerator would not work at all. Van died while driving approx 25 mph. We just had the entire fuel pump & fuel pump relay completely replaced. We have replaced both of these twice now, in less than 3 years. Same problem keeps happening. Mechanic agrees, that the core problem lies within a failure of the TIPM system. It's an electrical problem causing the fuel pump to fail while driving. This is extremely dangerous. It happened to us previously, while we were on the interstate driving approx 65 mph, and it almost caused us to crash the vehicle. Another problem to also note, is this same problem has caused the A/C unit to stop working. Blows out hot air, but will not produce cold air. A/C was completely replaced. Still not working. Mechanic says yet again, it's a failure of electrical sources due to the TIPM module. This should be an immediate recall from Chrysler, for 2013 Town N Country Minivan. Over 200 logged complaints of the exact same problem. They manufactured a broken TIPM module in these make & model vehicles. Now, my husband is stranded 200 miles from home, on the side of the road, and it's 98 degrees out. This is 4th time, weve experienced a total power failure. So it doesn't matter if you replace the fuel pump, it will still DIE. We are having this POS towed to our local mechanic, AGAIN. Its available for inspection. Problems have been confirmed by an independent servicer. Check engine remains on. Someone is going to die, if Chrysler doesn't issue an recall for this ongoing problem. The interior power is still on, and engine will turn over, will not start.

The WIN module in the listed vehicle has failed and is being replaced. This is the same type of WIN module that was contained in a recall for 2008-2010 models and should be updated to include the models beyond 2010. The problem has been random for a couple of years, but recently we have had constant issues with the vehicle shutting off while driving, leaving no power for steering or braking. The entire vehicle shuts off randomly, including WHILE DRIVING and is dangerous for anyone who owns this model vehicle. I am surprised and disappointed that newer models (same base design) are experiencing the same issue and nothing has been done. The following websites address the issue with model years similar to mine. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Included with this complaint is the repair estimate for my vehicle ($2057.38 for the replacement WIN module and programming). I have also included the NHTSA recall specific to this problem on 2009-2010 models, which have the same components as mine. Started the vehicle and traveled maybe about 50 feet. Noticed loss of power steering. This was due to the engine stalling out. The vehicle would not start and there was a strong odor of fuel fumes in the vehicle cabin. Exited the vehicle and observed a large puddle of oil running downhill from the vehicle. The puddle also smelled of gasoline. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop. The issue was determined to be a cracked oil filter housing assembly and the clip on the fuel return line had failed causing fuel to be sprayed onto the engine. The repair cost will be just over $800. It is fortunate that the engine was still cold and that the loss of oil caused the engine to shut off. If the engine had been hot enough to ignite the fuel, this could have had tragic results with a potential loss of my family's life. The oil filter housing assembly is a known issue with the Pentastar V6 3.6L engine. Chrysler so far has failed to take responsibility for this issue. I recently had to have repairs due to a faulty fuel pump relay. There appears to be related Chrysler TIPM recalls on almost every other model but the 2013 Town and Country. This issue appears to cause the vehicle to not start or allow the fuel pump to remain running after the vehicle is shut down. My Town and Country would not start and it produced strong fuel fumes. As noted, there are multiple safety issues noted with this model of vehicle that remain unresolved. It is a 2013 model but the issues are ones that have existed since the production of the vehicle and Chrysler has yet to assume responsibility. I will add a copy of the repair invoice shortly.

We have had to replace 2 faulty flywheels (a.k.a. flexplates) in our Chrysler Town & Country. The mechanics report that the composite materials used in creating these flywheel/flexplate parts were "less structurally sound than they should have been; therefore causing premature breakdown/failure in otherwise acceptable conditions."

While driving the car stalls at speed and all electrical components stop functioning. This causes failure to the power steering, power brakes and all components that permit driving the vehicle. Has happened numerous times with no codes shown on the dash. Fuel was adequate and no apparent defects. Taken to mechanic and there are no codes to check and commonly the engine will start up after a while and appear to have no problems. This is very dangerous as the car can stall at any speed.

In two separate incidents on 5/4/23 and 5/5/23, while DRIVING, the vehicle has stalled without warning. The engine completely shut off. Power steering and breaks stopped functioning properly making it VERY difficult to pullover and stop. Once pulled over, had to place the vehicle in park, completely turn off the electrical and restart the vehicle. No warning lamps or messages appeared before or after the incident. The vehicle has been displaying some issues starting recently, especially when using the push button. However, we have always been able to get it to start by inserting the key. This is an incredibly dangerous situation for the driver and any occupants as it has happened without warning while driving on highways which could very easily result in an accident if unable to pullover safely or stop if the breaks are not working. The vehicle has not yet been inspected, but we plan to get it inspected as soon as possible.

Vehicle has stalled numerous times while operating at high rates of speed 60+ mph in most cases. No prior warning or indication of stalling until vehicle no longer accelerates and then seconds later loses power steering. Usually I can get to the side of the road and pull out of traffic. However last night was not the case. I stalled in a construction zone, with concrete barriers on both sides. I pulled over as far as I could and was nearly hit multiple times by semis and other vehicles. I had my 4 children in the car with me and they are traumatized now. They were bawling because they thought they were going to get hit. We had a sheriff call for a tow truck which was not free. We were left stranded in the dark, in the cold, for an hour just this incident. It once was an issue that only happened occasionally. It happened 6 times this past week while I was out of state for holidays. This is my only means of transportation and having a newborn I have to be able to get around safely. I will state again NO warning prior, and no engine light after to diagnose the issue. Myself and my 4 children could have lost our lives last night. The officers who stopped could have lost their lives the passerby could have lost their lives. This vehicle is a death trap. They need to recall all of them to locate the real problem before tragedy strikes. I wouldn-??t even give this vehicle away that-??s how unsafe it is.

Consistent failure of the "Total Integrated Power Module" which controls so many items in the car such as windshield wipers, windshield defroster fan, exterior lighting systems, heater fan, the ability for the car to start, the horn may or may not sound and many other accessory related items. It is a very WELL KNOWN failure of these modules and they are basically un available blamed on the supply chain problems. As a result of these problems in this very well known module failure cars have become basically un-able to drive safely or not at all and sit in dealers service areas waiting for these modules to be replaced at the owners cost in most cases in excess of $1,000 for a part that is a known failure in design by Chrysler Corporation and their various owners (Mercedes Benz, Fiat, Stellantis) and others unknown at this time. This is against the Consumer Product Safety Commission as well as the National Highway Transportation Safety Commission to have so many defective modules that create unsafe conditions for the vehicle owners where they are concerned about their own safety as well as the safety of those they share the roads and highways with. I am along with many others asking you to look into this situation and find some kind of remedy to correct this ongoing problem for consumers and the safe operation of the vehicles that they operate on the roads of America as well as foreign countries.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that occasionally while driving at various speeds or while the vehicle was idling, the engine would shake with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to several independent mechanics on multiple occasions to have the coils, spark plugs, oil pan and other vehicle parts replaced; however, the failure persisted. An independent mechanic eventually discovered that there were engine misfires in cylinders #2, #4, #6; the contact was then informed of a service bulletin that the mechanic related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the service bulletin and informed him that his vehicle was not covered under warranty. The contact then called the dealer and made an appointment for a diagnostic test. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 89,000.

The car will not start when cold. We did replace the battery and a few other parts. But it can not be diagnosed. My girls and I were stranded in the cold, far from home due to the issue. When it gets nice out than the van starts. I think sometimes should be done, due to family kids, and handicap need accessible vans.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" While driving the entire engine and system shut off. All powered functions ceased and i was left to pull over with no power steering, the brakes didn't respond as well, signals weren't working either. Once pulled over I was able to restart the car with no issue, but the vehicle has continued to randomly lose all power, it seems to occur more frequently when when braking or slowing down. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It was put at great risk as the car could have lost control and i was at limited capacity to correct with no engine power or other powered functions. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" No warning.

My Chrysler Town and Country has serious electrical issues. It started with the radio shutting off and restarting by itself, which is not a serious issue at all. But yesterday, at a red light, the radio shut off and so did the car. The engine stopped working, the accelerator pedal would not respond. It was terrifying. Thankfully we were at a red light, but if this were to happen on a busy highway, or even just on a regular street with traffic, it could be a life threatening situation. From what I have researched online, this is a common problem with Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge cars. Legal action has been taken and class action lawsuits were filed to address this matter. The Center for Auto Safety (CAS) asked this very own NHTSA to open an investigation into faulty TIPM, which seem to be the problem that causes these cars to very dangerously completely shut off even while driving, causing drivers to lose control of the steering and of the brakes. The CAS estimated 7 million Chrysler vehicles have power issues related to the TIPM. One month after receiving a class action lawsuit, Chrysler issued a recall for 189.000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee with bad TIPMS. 189.000. Out of SEVEN MILLION. This is absurd. It seems as if Chrysler is waiting for someone to be killed due to this issue so they can take it seriously and actually issue the recall to all the cars that have this problem, not a tiny fraction of them and not only because it is directly related to a lawsuit. Unfortunately, despite multiple claims throughout the years that not only this is a common problem with Chrysler, but that the corporation is well aware of it and negligently refuses to address the issues, the NHTSA rejected the CAS petition to investigate this problem. Proof is definitely not amiss, as a quick internet research will produce thousands upon thousands of reports of the same problem on the same car. This needs to be a recall URGENTLY, and not only after someone dies.

On occasion at least four different times in the past two months, my vehicle has completely shut off while I am driving it. In an instant, a warning comes on my dash that has a lightening bolt, the engine and all electrical/power shuts off, the wheel locks, and I am only able to brake. I have taken it to the dealership where they charged me $100 to find what the issue was, even though unsuccessful. They said because the vehicle showed no codes, they didn-??t know the reason for the malfunction, and sent me home. I called Chrysler Recall and they said because there are no open recalls, they are unable to help me. When searching online, I see a lot of people have had this exact same issue but no one helps them fix it. Lawsuits have emerged. Accidents have happened. I have three small children who rely on me and my vehicle. It is completely unsafe for us to drive and for others around us on the road. No one will help diagnose or fix the problem. I need help fast! Please help me.
