About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I just received the 2nd recall notice about the rear quarter vent window switch, which may lead to a driver's door fire. My local Chrysler dealer tells me the replacement part is not available. The part was not available when I called in October. How long does Chrysler have to replace a defective part?
- The Villages, FL, USA
Drivers village in New York sold me this vehicle without mentioning this recall and without disconnecting it to prevent a driver door fire. I received a letter in the mail about the recall soon after purchasing it. It was recalling the vehicle for the "rear quarter vent window switch" which could cause a fire in the driver-side door. This dealership is obviously looking for the deal with little to no interest in the safety of its customers. Please investigate this dealership to prevent them from potentially putting others in danger. Thank you for your time.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and country. The contact smelled a burning odor inside the vehicle and noticed that the control for the rear power windows malfunctioned. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 8,000.
