Town & Country Touring 3.6L V6

Minivan had low compression at cylinder 3 (that complaint is described separately in this forum). While dealer mechanic was evaluating that problem, he also found a leaking transmission oil pressure cooler line. We had them replace the hose and problem seems to be fixed. I haven't ever had this problem with a prior vehicle and disappointed that this happened at only 93,100 miles on a well-maintained vehicle used only for regular suburban driving.

One of 4 problems found at once and 13 issues found over 3 months. Chrysler Canada is telling me they don't care that my van has to go in for the 9th time in 3 months and that it hasn't been working properly for almos t1/4 of a year.

Update from May 19, 2017: One of 4 problems found at once and 13 issues found over 4 months. Chrysler Canada is not being helpful and I get the feeling they don't care about me as a customer

Update from May 19, 2017: One of 4 problems found at once and 13 issues found over 4 months. Chrysler Canada has not been helpful in getting my problems resolved. They told me there is nothing they can do other than have me bring the car in week after week after week, until it is finally resolved (if that ever happens)

Town & Country Touring-L 3.6L V6

Noticed oil spot after backing out the 2014 Town and Country. Found oil coating on top of engine, transmission, bottom of engine and frame works. Check oil and found 1 1/2 qt low. I check oil and fluid levels often. It had been 3,000 miles since last oil change. Sprayed down with brake clean and drove to my friends repair shop. He traced to oil filter adapter/housing/cooler on top passenger side of engine. He advised me this was a "not if but when" type of problem for this model year/engine. PART #68105583AA. My reasearch found many complaints back to 2014 along with many warranty coverage refusals. The excuse given was "oil filter cap over tightened caused housing to crack" on just about every one listed, along with repair cost exceeding $500.00. I checked with local dealership parts department and was told this part has been revised at least twice and was a week on back order. Part also available at other parts stores and on ebay and Amazon.

I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and before I scheduled an appointment I asked about the high failure rate and the excuse of over tightening. The person responded that I had a "50/50" chance of being denied due to the possibility of over tightening.I was unaware these vehicles were equiped with hidden cameras and torque recorders. Fully confident the failure was not due to overtighting, a gut feeling on what side of that "50/50" i would end up on and knowing my cost of the part I decided to save myself the wasted trip and resulting anger and frustration.

Should I have given the dealer a chace to look at it? Perhaps but expierence over the years shows that my gut feeling is pretty spot on. Could this be cause by overtightening? On this vehicle I would say NOT a snowballs chance in hell. Could someone at anytime break this part byovertightening it? Anything is possible. I for one would like to see some one test that with a torque wrench and post the results.
